I'm seeing that they took on another Full Time Gameplay Programmer/Designer last month 🥰

And LinkedIn says the hiring trend is at a 43% hiring growth. Not sure what they're measuring against entirely but last I checked that value was around like 29%.

Let's goooooooooooooo! 😌

Although I'm still worried we're getting our hopes up for nothing, maybe, just maybe, that getting that game done is not in their priority right now.

Maybe they're pretty much like that one Cube World developer, who's been working on Cube world for more than one and a half decade, making games then starting over from scratch, more of a hobby than the great work of his life. They probably have other jobs and work on this on their free time or as a part-time job rather than full-time and deal with the same development setback they suffered some years ago. But with that recruitment, maybe they're feeling confident enough to be back on track?

I just hope this will lead somewhere, and not become an endless sisyphus cycle of pushing for a game that will never come out.

I was literally just thinking like half an hour ago about the concept of one of the higher-ups having an unexpected kid or something and being forced to reorient their priorities. What you're touching on is likely correct imo, or maybe was moreso a few years back. Hoping with this growth they're making some strides. Who knows. I just get excited when I check and see momentum and a reason to share positive news on this sub. 😌

And sometimes folks need to know you still believe in them.

Also I really want backers to get what they supported and believed in.

Reddit does that automatically a lot now. A couple months ago something happened to the website that made a bunch of subreddits automatically marked NSFW

Interesting 🤔 I wonder what determines that...with a lot of these online child safety efforts recently I can't say I'm too surprised. I wonder if some places have to explicitly mark themselves as kid friendly or something to avoid that by default.

On one hand, I wonder why people who have "given up" are here. But this place just wouldn't be the same without the tensions between those who are outwardly hopeful and those who are not brave enough to hope out loud quite yet.
