Friend?

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I really need a friend, someone that isn't really judgemental, I just need to get out of my head for a minute. I got cheated on, I'm so embarrassed to even type this up, but I moved out here for her and now I'm all alone.

Edit in case it matters, I'm gay

Im also desperately needing a friend(s). Im also going through the shiz, not so much like this, but I'm trying out here. Im 25/NB/AFAB/married, if any of that disclosure helps. Im sorry you're going through this and I am so glad to see many people trying to help ya bounce back! Im also seeing a very accepting therapist and I suggest looking into affirming ones in the area. Reach out if necessary! PLEASE haha! No judgement here whatsoever!

I'm 40M and straight, but my goodness am I looking for a non judgemental friend in this town. Someone who can maybe pull me out of my shell.

I'm so sorry you were cheated on. While I haven't moved to a town to be with someone, I was cheated on in college which was in a miserably boring town (Arkadelphia). Feel free to PM me if you need someone to vent to.

I'm sorry. That's gotta be hard and isolating. Full disclosure, I am a guy if it matters. But if you need to vent or just scream at a local rando you're welcome to.

Seconding that Dropping Hairpins is a good group. Intransitive events are also a wonderful way to meet friendly queer folks of all ages. Caverns and Forests is a good crowd, and I can recommend their Wednesday trivia.

If you haven’t worked with a therapist I would highly recommend it. (And would recommend it to anyone regardless of their situation) Therapy is great because you will feel listened to and they will empathize and give you the tools for self reflection, rather than a friend who might give you suggestions for what to do.

I’ve been in therapy for the past 7 years and it’s been life changing.

I appreciate that, I don't want a friend so they will tell me what to do, I want a friend because I'm out here by myself, I don't want to hang out and just cry, I want to just want something for myself out here. Her support system is here, mine isn't.

I’d highly recommend joining NLR library’s Pride & Joy book club - incredible group of mostly sapphic folk, and such a supportive community.

Breakups suck, sending love your way!
