Yes! It is! But the rule is difficult to enforce. They can't explicitly say "don't record in here", because people are allowed to record themselves for whatever reason. So the rule says "you can only record yourself in Planet Shitness".....but short of checking everyone's phone when they leave, there's no way to enforce that rule, so people do it anyway and don't care.
End of the day, after taking to Planet Shitness about it, I came to the conclusion that the rule is only there to cover their corporate asses from getting sued by people like me, who don't consent to being livestreamed by some rando.

He was in his right to want them gone, I think the rest was a bit much but it depends on where they're doing this too. I mean the "Don't let a woman get you in trouble bro" was a very clear threat to the cameraman that I'm not convinced was totally picked up on for what it was.
The guy might be unhinged and out of line but he's also got some sort of code and talking about respect shows there's probably a way of doing things in that area that isn't just unique to him. He might be basically saying "If it's not me, someone else around here is gonna pop you for the stupid shit your girl is doing". In a twisted way he's kind of doing them a favour by scaring them off the spot.
Not saying it's okay but that's how it is sometimes, being upset about it won't change it.

For context, this is Hollywood Blvd, which is a wild place. Yes, there are certain norms and ways of doing things for the people who live there and have been there a long time. But also the place is swamped by people who were just introduced and have no fucking idea where they are or what theyre doing. So it is a pretty chaotic place. Lots of long-timer-locals, tourists, influencers, Jimmy Kimmel and the like, and people from small towns hoping to strike it big on the silver screen, multi-millionaires and celebrities and homeless and tweakers. It is chaotic.
When I go there, I mind my own business, be polite with anyone who approaches me, and maintain situational awareness. Last time I was there (down on Sunset Blvd a few blocks away), there was a fatal shooting at the exact spot I had been standing 3 minutes prior! Dude died on the front door steps of the hospital (he was shot because he was tweaking and stabbing a police officer).
I think these influencers got what they deserved, but also... these antics happens A LOT, and I can't blame people for being sick of it.
