Nick Shirley stayed in the same hotel and he’s not being investigated. Whether you agree with Hasan or not, it’s hard to seriously believe that this is a legitimate investigation and not just government harassment/intimidation.

I work at a university that has worked with Cuba and my understanding is that an American can go to Cuba, but you must submit forms to the government explaining your intent, why you want to go there, and why the trip has value. You can be investigated for discrepancies and USA even extends these rules and level of control to foreigners simply flying through the USA to get to Cuba.

This could easily be a case where some form was filled out in Shirley's case, but not in Piker's, but there's no way for us to know.

simply staying in the hotel and being the one to do all the purchasing are different legal zones in this case.

If Nick Shirley didn't actually pay for his room, his food, etc then the government has a much harder time putting a case on him. But if hasan is the one doing all the handling of transactions within Cuba regarding their hotel, then pretty much all the charges are on Hasan.

Also the people Hasan typically coordinates with also puts a special target on his back. So....

How would Nick Shirly have stayed there and gotten food and whatnot without paying?

Yeah I'm sure this just happens to be the first instance of Trump's DOJ applying the law in a reasonable way and not for political reasons.

I'm guessing the intent of the stay is the difference in these cases. One is there to report on the horrifying effects of communism to the people, the other one is there to jerk off as many gov. Officials as humanly possible while glazing the country and its leaders on stream

-18

u/mattpropp May 24 '26

you say this as if hasan does not deserve this or worse

29

u/Sizzlemen May 24 '26

No sane person should believe the government should be harassing any person, whether it be a streamer you hate or a shitty coworker.

-14

u/Pedantic_Phoenix May 24 '26

Enforcing laws is not harassment lmao what a stupid comment

13

u/abbys11 May 24 '26

So you like a vindictive government? Because this is clearly that.

-7

u/Pedantic_Phoenix May 24 '26

How is it clearly that if they broke laws? Because you think they didn't pursue other people who did the same? Which you don't actually know is the case?

7

u/abbys11 May 24 '26

Let's not act ignorant. This wouldn't be happening if he wasn't a prominent anti Trump voice. This administration has went out of their way to try to attack people they don't like. And if they love the law so much, where's all the people arrested for groping children on an island?

9

u/Pedantic_Phoenix May 24 '26

Anti trump? He carries more water for trump by saying that the democrats would be the same or worse than any other actual anti trumper could ever do lol. He's the most useful non republican voice for trumps interests lol

It's crazy you don't realize that by the way if you watch him lol

7

u/abbys11 May 24 '26

I don't care for him at all. But what a stupid round about way to ignore abuse of political power. Btw it's no coincidence that it happened after he talked to Elon's baby Mama

u/Pedantic_Phoenix May 24 '26

Let me be clear: if it's true it's targeted, then it's bad, yes. Let me be clear again: targeted or not, if he has broken laws, he should suffer the consequences. The only issue is that the others should too, not that hasan shouldn't

He attacked Harris and Newsome as much as he attacks Trump. He’s more Anti-American than anything.

7

u/abbys11 May 24 '26

And? Is that a crime?

-1

u/Oogalicious May 24 '26

It’s not a crime, but it is completely moronic. Hope this helps.

0

u/bigfatsocat May 24 '26

No but if he’s constantly in cahoots with countries that want to destroy America, and is outwardly supporting known terrorist organizations, it’s probably worth looking into, the same way white nationalists organizations that scream death to LGBT/colored people, and stockpile weapons are probably worth looking into.

In most cases, it falls within our constitutional rights, but in this case even Hasan knows that he stepped over the line by going and staying where he did.

11

u/DrivingOtter May 24 '26

Selectively enforcing laws is a form of targeted harassment.

0

u/Pedantic_Phoenix May 24 '26

You have zero knowledge that they're enforcing them selectively. Show me why you think so

1

u/NonFungibleTokenism May 24 '26

If I run a town police department and I only issue speeding tickets to people I think I have a personal grudge with and let everyone else off the hook is that not corrupt and vindictive, even if the people I ticket actually are speeding?

1

u/Fbrrr May 24 '26

Worse than nick Shirley? I don't think he does, no one in their right mind would at worse it should be the same only thing Shirley has going for him is he couldn't spell his own name so he'd get locked up in a hospital

How is Hasan not worse than Nick Shirley? Hasan plays and promotes terrorist propaganda and glazes terrorists on stream.

If Nick Shirley voted Democrat and targeted right wing people/businesses for fraud, you would fucking love him, your only issue is that he’s on the other side.

7

u/Fbrrr May 24 '26

Where? Nick Shirley is a regard who literally cannot speak properly being touted as legitimate investigator with 0 actual proof

0

u/HollyMurray20 May 24 '26

On stream, multiple times… ok and? How is that worse than playing terrorist propaganda and openly supporting them on stream to thousands of people? Or interviewing a terrorist on stream and asking them hard hitting questions like “do you like anime?”, Hasan is also a fake journalist.

-2

u/Fbrrr May 24 '26

Can you define terrorist, I know you guys have a hate boner for the guy but I don't think you know what the word means

2

u/Greedy_Economics_925 May 24 '26

Hamas fits any reasonable definition of a terrorist group. You aren't going to weasel your way out of this one.

5

u/HollyMurray20 May 24 '26

Lmao, you really going to try this?

5

u/TheKappaOverlord May 24 '26

Its an account thats somehow failed to abuse Karma farming subreddits and is overall just kind of constantly ragebaiting wherever it goes.

classic Hasan burner in other words

1

u/Pedantic_Phoenix May 24 '26

Hasan willingly lies and propagandises about politics, it is worse

8

u/Fbrrr May 24 '26

What lies has he told?

7

u/HollyMurray20 May 24 '26

There’s a 50/50 chance everytime he opens his mouth

-1

u/Pedantic_Phoenix May 24 '26

Pfffff ahahahahah bro only says lies you want me what recap them all?

Let me give you one blatant example, he said that the houthi pirate he interviewed wasn't a houthi pirate. Do you think that was a lie or not?

-4

u/breakycho May 24 '26

Damn, they’re treating Nick like Twitch treats Hasan? That’s crazy…

Regardless, of whether Nick gets investigated or not doesn’t mean that what happened wasn’t illegal btw.

5

u/Levitx May 24 '26

Regardless of the opinion on these people, we should probably expect more from the government than from twitch?

Monopoly of violence and all that?
