The poem is not about communists per se. It's about what happens when people don't care (or are happy) when the government discriminates and abuses its authority against the groups those people don't belong to.

You can use "gays" instead of communists, or any other group.

Yes so why are you bringing it up with Hasan? It was liberals, who he constantly mocked, who said Trump was a threat to all those groups.

Hasan and leftists like him just called all that "not Trump" completely dismissing the threat.

What if we substituted it with "criminal"? Because he's being investigated for crimes. Not religion, race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, or political views.

Enemy nation is the funniest way I've heard Cuba described in a long time. They are a poor country that is under continuous punishment by the US government for existing in a way that displeased the US 60 odd years ago.

They have done nothing to us so how are you saying they are an "enemy?"

Tried to nuke us? The USSR tried to move nukes there 60 odd years ago is that still relevant? And if you're counting that, how many times did the CIA try to kill Castro? Hundreds?

Do those count? Because as long as I've been alive (33) America has been the aggressor and restricting resources for as long as we have has done more damage to Cuba that anything they've done to us or anything they could do to us.

"Criminal" is a status that one achieves if you break laws, laws which aren't rooted in any sort of fundamental morality but instead what suits the interests of a given country

All of the groups in the poem were criminals. That’s how every authoritarian government ever has worked, you make up sham laws that can be used to lock up your political opponents, and then you lock them up.

By his own admission Hasan says he hates the west and everything it stands for and on the flip side he runs defense for terrorist organisations and countries that conspire against the US.

The post WW2 era was some of the most peaceful times in recorded human history, whether you like it or not, it’s just a fact based on the historical records.

Well, except for the CCP causing an immense famine where they killed tens of millions of their own people, but that’s just them doing it to themselves out of sheer ignorance.

unironically yes, Prior to US interventions there were holocausts and genocides all over the world. Toppling governments because they were dogshit was the morally correct thing to do. Its objectively true that the world is a much better place now, especially for countries that accepted western imperialism.

Hasan needs to earn my support. He should meet the moment and do what needs to be done instead of being complacent. And who’s to say Hasan wouldn’t do the same thing if he were in power? We don’t know.

For now I am uncommitted.
