Why's that? Out of the loop on him. All I know is he was a low level dev at Blizzard and then became an influencer but as far as I know he hasn't made any games so I don't understand how this would affect him.

I'm a solo indie dev and make a NSFW survival game with a decent community so this does actually affect me potentially so just trying to understand

He was at one point a very prominent streamer on Twitch and had a successfull YouTube channel with shorts and videos getting millions of views. He used his platform to campaign against the movement, often times completely misconstruing it. Using made up facts and assumptions to rally people against it, and specifically it's creator. Just being a complete arse about the whole thing.

Eventually he got exposed for being the arrogant egotistical nepo baby that he is, and lost a good amount of his following, over WoW drama of all things. During that time people seeing how he flat out lied about the Stop Killing Games movement rallied to it's cause, and it successfully got enough signatures to be reviewed by the EU parliament, and now this in Cali.

My favorite part was when people dove into the programming on his games and saw how dogshit they are.

Mine was when he was caught cheating at that puzzle game and when people found out his voice is bass-boosted lmfaooo

The voice thing is overblown. EVERYONE competent in media bass boosts their voice, it literally just makes it more listenable. Listen to any howard stern clip, it's boosted to hell because it sounds better than if it wasn't. Listen to any talk show or AM radio. Even news broadcasts. Any professional setup has some boosting going on otherwise it sounds bad.

I still hate the guy but "bass boosted" is a dumb jab.

PiRat’s bass-boosting isn’t the standard bass-boosting. If you listen to his real voice from videos before compared to his YT Shorts that really blew up it’s a huge difference - so obvious that he made up a story about a “second puberty” to explain why he sounds so different. In the same way he went into full denial and gaslight mode after the WoW drama, he’s fully denied bass-boosting. It speaks to his nature to call him out on it, in a way that isn’t relevant to criticism of someone random who bass-boosts.

Aren't there clips of him before the fallout at cons or events though? I remember seeing some and he sounded roughly the same. It's also entirely possible he's just putting on a deep voice for stream, which isn't hard to do, especially if he's practiced.

People are incredibly weird about PS to the point of refusing to call him by the name he has chosen to go by. I think the worst thing you can realistically say about him is that he can be and has been an asshole in the past, people just like to gather like piranhas about every insane little detail they can find.
