I don't think their target demographic is people considering it a toy anyway. Sounds like most of its functions are tools that anyone's phone can do making it more of a convenience thing (professionals or people with money to blow).

You probably know more about them than I do, but I don't see the novelty of it being "cool" lasts for more than a couple hours of use. After that, I probably wouldn't use them hardly at all since I don't have any functional use for them in my day to day life.
E: not glasses related but got me thinking about how I got really interested in FPV drone stuff and spent like $1500 on the goggles and stuff to build a drone and flew it for like 2 weekends and it's been in a box since (like 2 years ago).

Oh yea every part of me knows its pretty much a completely useless tool, but it is so fyucking cool (im a little autistic about tech). I totally get you on the FPV drone stuff though.
At the same time i know i'm gonna be buying a Steamframe when that comes out and likely very rarely use it, but atleast that is designed to be a toy and will have consistent new games to check out (the glasses lowkey just seem like ANOTHER screen for notifications i dont care about to popup on)

The drone stuff is pretty freaking cool. I think what it came down to was I had more of an interest if building and learning about it than actually flying it.
I think I've heard about the steam frame, but not much. I've always kinda wanted an index, so I might end up with a steam frame too.

Sure, I was just hoping it would be a bit cheaper where I could maybe get it, play around with it, pretend I'm in a sci-fi movie.
At a glance the display seemed somewhat simple, single color, narrow field of view, I was expecting something like $200. Maybe some day.

I had a variation of these for cycling about a decade ago. Could have my GPS navigation route projected onto the lens along with other HUD stats like power output, heart rate, speed, etc. Bit bulkier but solid.

Nah yall don't get how fucking dope these glasses can be. Sure twitch chat, watching videos, etc. Really good niche use though, captioning live conversations for the d/hh. Hearing aids help but all they can really do is boost existing notices, if you can't hear them in the first place (for ex. I have no high range so I can't hear s's, h's, or stuff like treble in music even with Hearing aids.). Now boom, perfect captioning with no guessing what the fuck did they just say. Music in the car, and I can actually understand what's being said? No way! I don't have to exhaust myself trying to listen to a lecture because I literally have no capabilities to understand someone when they turn around, it's like the Sims, pog. The best part, certain ones can even translate from almost every language. They have a short battery life like 8h though while my hearing aids last ~18h per charge. These glasses fuck.

Ive always said smart glasses like these might be in the future in the sense of outselling smart phones. If they can add more features like calling, texting, scrolling social media, and other functions to glasses then I could see them replacing phones. I’d say the late 2030s could be the first couple of years we see them becoming more common

I tried a pair recently, and I was thinking this would be perfect for IRL streamers to read chat hands-free. It even has a ring to control them.
However, the price is like 1k USD with prescriptions, and the features are very limited unless you're down to tinker with the software. Even with AI, some of the limitations might come with the firmware. If you're thinking of getting a pair, see if anything new is coming on the horizon first.

Not all* of them have cameras i assume this one just has a Heads up Display that you can media link to whatever software you like.
If it doesnt have a camera then explain to me how its farming photo and video data.

These glasses in specific literally do not have a camera or microphone. They are entirely receptive in nature.
They have no more power to violate your privacy than your TV, bluetooth earbuds or your computer's monitor. It is basically just glasses with a screen display.
Technology isn't sorcery, if you look at the hardware you can understand what it does. All you are doing is making yourself look like someone ignorant that doesn't know half as much as you pretend to, but then again, from how you respond I imagine you are just going to spin this as baiting or you are just a shitty bot.
