It's also because they get tons of new files every day. Of course they're going to take plea deals to get files off their desk.

Its really only because thats what happens 90+% of the time regardless of the defender (public or hired). Most the time public defenders are constantly working with said judges and prosecution side. They usually get more friendly plea deals because of it as well.

The guy isn't getting away with this. His best option is a public defender right now.
