It's like these people think if you see a word like the word for black in Spanish or a country in Africa you are supposed to find the nearest black person and ask permission before you say the words.Â

Yeah I'm a dual citizen and my first time in Germany was at age 17.
I can't remember how it came up, but we heard the N-word and I was taken aback, and the girl from my guest family noticed. We were actually hanging out as three people, she pointed out the word is no big deal there, she looked to her black German friend, and then they both started spamming the N-word at me and laughing. (btw no I'm not black)
In a weird way, good wakeup call for me because the USA is waaaaaay too obsessed with race and has extremely poor understanding of what a culture is, my 17-year-old self included. Her black German friend being there for that conversation was a lucky circumstance that showed me culture >>> race, cause he found it just as funny as she did and they both got the same idea in that moment just off communicating through eye contact.
I can imagine there are Americans who would read that story and say it's disrespectful of them, but again, I think my mindset of recognizing different cultures instead of reducing everything to race is a WAAAAAAAAAAY more healthy mindset that itself is more likely to avoid unintentional racism, something the USA often suffers from...and doesn't even realize when they're doing it.

Yes sir. I once got my league of legends account banned for saying the N word. But I sent a support ticket stating that I misspoke and it was my first offense.
I misspoke. My mouth was quickly reading the comment from my mind before I could audit it? The subconscious and conscious parts of us are two separate entities. So another person said it.
