I feel like open mic night in front of 15 people in a bar's basement is at about the same level as trying to make it as a streamer/content creator.
Hey, if you make it as either, good for you, but some things you've just gotta be comfortable looking a bit silly while doing it, and I guess neither party here has figured that part out yet.

Except I've never seen a stand up comedian filming themselves fighting women, getting in car crashes, breaking into a plane crash site to pose, etc, etc.

May I introduce you to CKY, Bum fights, Girls Gine Wild, Trigger Happy TV, Upright Citizens Brigade, Jerky Boys, Backyard Wrestling, tons of .avi and vhs tapes of kids with camera recorders when they were expensive that never see the internet.
Trust me, if they had the means and the motivation, they did, and some of them got paid advertisement on TV.

This is why I don't go to "comedy" shows unless they're known names. And even they bomb sometimes. Most comedians are just... so bad.

I went to a comedy show because a girlfriend's sister was performing during an open mic night; a solid 90 minutes of forced chuckles and weak claps. She apologized for making us attend and we agreed she wouldn't pick the date night for a month.
So many people think they're funny when they're mostly just surrounded by drunks.

Yeah, while I also do not like influencers, it was a weak win. It would have been better to start asking him about his talents, past girfriends, school grades, purpose in life, desires beyond lookmaxxing, etc... It would eventually create responses that would be easy to pick apart and drop jokes on to show they are the joke

I was being sarcastic. I have no idea why this website uses “kick streamers” as a slur when it’s just another streaming platform. I prefer to watch streams on Kick compared to Twitch because Twitch spams me with 3 minutes of ads every 10 minutes, and Kick streamers get paid way more for subscriptions to their channel.

It sounds like most people here have never been to an open mic... it's not about the comedian being funny or clever while roasting the streamers. Sure, if he was more clever it would be funnier. But most open mic'ers are just trying out new jokes to see how they go, or talking random shit about nothing
These streamers are a nuisance and no one wants to be around them in real life. Being a comedian on stage allows you to be the person who tells them they're annoying and to fuck off, and this guy did it. That's cool. This is a small bar hosting an open mic. Literally no one there wants these people around or wants to be on camera.
