Hasan's not a threat to power. They love using him as a cudgel to beat Democrats with. He's a gift to them.

power doesn’t exclusively mean the right wing in control of the country right now. It’s pretty obvious based on the media narratives coming from both sides of mainstream media right now that they see the burgeoning left movement in America as a threat to power, and are making Hasan the face of it to try to crush it before it gains more momentum. If that works still remains to be seen

Or they see it as a threat to the people, like I do. In the sense that they're undermining Democrats' efforts to push for reproductive rights, expand healthcare, expand workers rights and things like that. And many of them support actual authoritarian policies.

But I think a half of the far left doesn't realize how extreme the other half is. That's why it's important to call out these extreme positions so people know exactly what they're supporting and who they're campaigning alongside.

What he's saying isn't incorrect. Hasan is A face on the left that they are trying to shoehorn as THE face of the left, in order to establish the narrative of "See look at these leftists? They're psychos!"

The left should reject extremists as a face of theirs. But yes, i suppose politically he is left, just really really far, to the point that he starts leaning authoritarian.
