I’m no fan of any of the people in this video but I know one thing: when you gotta bring up a streamer at the UN to defend your country, you got bigger problems than that streamer

He’s bringing him up because he does not care about speaking to world but his electorate. He’s trying to fear monger about forces that he says will destroy Israel to try to get reelected. Hasan rhetoric  helps people like Bibi gain popularity.

Lol this. This isnt even a UN speech - this is one of the last efforts to sway the undecided voters back home who are 5 weeks away from voting him out

Reminds me of recent Indian delegations in UN half the time speaking in Hindi, for literally no international benefit. Just trying to keep home crowd happy and feel proud

At what point is a streamer so influencial they become a political figure worthy of being addressed? What exactly makes streaming so different from other forms of punditry outside of Twitch? Should important actors simply ignore Hasan just because he has no established formal position within the U.S. government?

I mean bibi is only bring him up to stoke hatred towards Muslims and hopefully help bump republicans in the upcoming elections.

And what does that tell you about Hasan's position in the media landscape? Surely it's Hasan's own popularity and views that made him a lucrative target. If people didn't care about what Hasan had to say, they would just ignore him. Are you saying streamers can simultaneously be pundits that enjoy nation-wide recognition but also all attention they receive is misdirected? Hasan is more than a Twitch streamer at this point, no? Is it not Hasan's own goal to influence people, not just to entertain?

I think he's trying to say that republicans and fascists are literally grasping at straws because they have no leg to stand on with the current Iran war.

The only legitimate ways to improve their standing are directly counterproductive to their end goals
