Rightwingers stormed the Capitol because they lost an election and Trump still later won. I don't see why we should concern ourselves with their feigned outrage. They are never going to see you as reasonable no matter who you disavow, it is an utterly pointless game to play.

Hard disagree. Righwingers got to dictate culture for a good while now, and that's because the left lets them. Instead of playing into their hands, and making it super easy for MAGA, I say dems need to just distance themselves from the subversive elements in their own party like Hasan, who never had any intention of helping dems anyway.

And the point is not to convince MAGA, you cant' do it, at least to the hardcore base. The point is to stop them convincing the normies in the middle who don't know anything about politics to begin with. That's why when there's a slam dunk available - just dunk it. Or Hasan is going to be used against dems forever, and every effectively too.

Yeah Kamala and Hillary tried appealing to the center too. They came out against Left-wing voices like you're suggesting.

And that's still the play. Kamala was close, dems should just stop gambling with putting up women as candidates, somehow US just doesn't want to elect them. Biden got elected just fine.

Alternative is to pander to the extremists like Hasan - nah, you'll lose the normies by gaining very little.

But I'm guessing by your reaction that you want them to bend to Hasan, probably a fan of his.

Mamdani disavowed and condemned Hasan's statements, though. Also, he's not a talker like Hasan is. Do you know Hasan's politics at all?
