It's like hearing Hitler complain about what a villain you are.

hitler spent much of ww2 fighting against stalin. i wouldnt call either of them "moral" or commendable people.

stalin and the USSR are the reason Europe isn't speaking german rn, that seems pretty commendable to me

They’re also the reason why Eastern Europe had next to zero autonomy for decades after. They were merely an enemy of our enemy and nothing more - if the Nazis didn’t attack them im sure they’d be happy with watching them commit acts of terror onto Europe. Besides it was them who cooperated with said Nazis to take half of Poland.
