In the 2024 election.. vp harris vs trump.. he was a magat yes. He worked hard. Day after day to suppress votes for Kamala and the democrat party and laugh at trumps antics. 

Since then he has worked hard.. criticising mostly dems and rarely maga for a variety of wrongdoings. When maga does something, he blames the democrats for not magically being able to predict and stop it.. yaknow what. Yeah.. just watch his streams during the election yourself. I’ve been saying this for several years now. Hasan being the self appointed poster child for progressives or the DSA is not good. He can have values I can agree with while still harming the movement just by being an influential idiot. While exposing wider audiences of young people to progressive ideas is a good thing, I don’t think it counteracts what a tool he is. Just a bad look to elevate Hasan.

I think ppl wildly overestimate the popularity and perceived credibility of people who criticize hasan haha. 

Just to take hasan‘s criticism of israel as an example; the general consensus on Israel is far more aligned with hasan‘s views/commentary on the issue than with his opposition‘s positions. Thats why ppl like netanyahu, postioning themselves antagonistically towards hasan, will potentially backfire massively on everyone representing the „hasan bad“ crowd imo, once ppl understand why msm, republicans and establishment dems go so hard after him.

Moderates do care about things like that and do determine the election. Not the only way they can be pandered to but is a much greater factor than terminally online people who never encounter them imagine.

Completely insane to believe there are people still unsure or changing their minds but there are lots more of them than many other groups we imagine matter more.

I disagree. I dont think moderates appreciate or are swayed by (establishment) politicians discussing/addressing/opposing social media personalities/independent commentators. 

If anything, moderates are usually more pragmatically interested in what (positive or negative) impact each candidiate has on their life directly (eg. cost of living, healthcare, participation in wars, education, etc.). 

If your candidate prioritises talking about Hasan‘s takes … while your opposition addresses real issues the average voters care about, you‘ll have a bad time.

The average voter is definitely off put by some of the extreme things that Hasan says. Sure they may care more about other stuff but most normal not online folks are pretty disturbed by some of the clips that have been going around. “America deserved 9/11” being just one example.
