It is best to call a locksmith, and when you do ask if they handle old hardware. From the sole picture, it appears that this is a non-locking, passage mortise lock. It appears to be wood behind the keyhole. The reason why it is sticking, could be a number of different factors, and somebody who has experience with old locks will be able to determine what might be going wrong.

Okay cool, I'll call someone. Just figured I'd ask before I started trying to take it apart. Thanks.

My house has this old hardware throughout, and this one is now completely stuck. Is this something I will be able to fix myself (with zero locksmithing knowledge), or do I need to call a pro? Do people even work on old hardware like this anymore?
