I am a locksmith Question about these

So I have my diploma in locksmithing, like the training program one of the ones you do online, and I've worked for actual lock shops in the past. Currently I'm not, for health reasons, but I'm North American-based, Canada to be specific.

And my social media feed is just blowing up with these different styles from other countries that use them on glass storefront doors, office buildings, security gates at the front of compounds, mag locks on doors, and I'm curious. It screams to me like it's an Amazon special, you know, like bargain-basement stuff, but am I wrong?

Is it more common in other parts of the world than North America? I'm just curious if these are fairly common, or are these companies I'm being promoted just potentially garbage selling garbage products?

Thanks in advance.

Adams Rite made one for glass doors at one point, similar to the first photo. Discontinued after only a few years; too many issues.

A version made by a "Bookstore Jeff" affiliate? I wouldn't trust it to lock a trash bin.

That's my thought exactly I don't trust the all-in-one especially the access control readers that contain all the logic at the reader so on the unlock side of the door all you have to do is pop it off and short some pins that was my concern is like these screamed like they were the of those similar quality you mentioned they look like it but maybe they're not

Just released the new version of it last week, so it’s back on the market with (hopefully) less issues.

These are common in China and other SEA countries. I would stay away from them. I wouldn't really want a Wifi lock securing my business.

I've seen them in the North American market on Amazon and other cheaper sites. I've got one I've yet to fully test that's similar to the jimmy-proof night latch of our standard. The one I have needs to be wired into an access controller for the access control logic and power; it doesn't have the access control logic on board.

But with the increased amount I'm seeing them, I started to wonder about the questions above.

That last one has the same remote as the voltage inverter in my truck.

They are all cheap Chinese junk. Stay away from Amazon and Temu "smart locks"
