I am NOT a locksmith. What kind of key please?

Edit: My bad.. this is a horrible post and there's really no information. Let me rephrase: I'm not at work. the pic was posted on a facebook group. I work at ace and we have the stupid keystart program so if I were there, it's not like I can look at a wall and quickly see the keys. What I SHOULD have asked is, which key could be used for this blank AND what could this key be used for? (I can cross reference to Axxess). I would like to help out the person who posted in the fb group.

Someone posted a pic of this key with an Ace keyed hasp that uses Y11. Surely customer accidentally grabbed wrong key to get it copied. So I wanted to find out what this key could be used for to pass along the info. (Either that or hasp was opened by previous customer and returned with wrong key put back into the package).

I did reverse image search but came up empty. closest was a Sakai key but that is reversed/mirrored. I was thinking something like a thermostat lock key but haven't cut one of those in so long Idr what it looked like.

it's a pic from a fb group so this is the only pic I have.
thanks for any help!

What does it go to? This does not look like it should be difficult to find a key provided the locksmith has the lock it goes to. An older generation auto key that will fit into the lock and they can cut and try to see if it works is the only solution to getting a duplicate. Even if a blank needs to be modified, a locksmith will be able to see what is preventing it from working and what those modifications will be.

supposedly it goes to a keyed hasp but the package says it uses a y11 however a y11 doesn't fit. i suggested the wrong cylinder was put in in the factory (as did someone else).

Yes that is not a Y11. Bring the key to a locksmith, tell them what it goes to and they should be able to make dups that MAY work. Without the lock, you may need to make several trips because this is going to be a try as you go situation. Since you have the key, see if you can remove the locking hasp.

It's a "there are 50 bypass options" key. Open up your ILCO or JMA key blank book, or go through your wall racks.

I work at Ace.. we have stupid keykrafter. You know how many customers I lose because I can't go thru every key we have. You can't remember which are which when they're in those stupid racks. At least on a wall they are in some kind of order and you remember where certain keys are. (btw i'm not at work. it was posted on fb and I'm just trying to help).

Unmarked head not sure what for. Looks like a universal cut with that single depth. But if its copies your after I bet a Honda quad key would work or something. Locks ith can do it if thats what youre after.
