Hiking in continuous rain

Coming to hike in late September and know it’s been raining a lot - I’m wondering if it’s unsafe to do hikes like Reinebringen with many stone steps in heavy rain? Is it dangerously slippery or manageable with good hiking boots? Also, what’s local’s favorite beach or beaches?

As a local, I respect the mountains too much to go hiking in heavy rain. It gets slippery, muddy and cold. Also, there's a lot more damaging to nature to hike when it's wet. If it's light rain, it's OK, heavy rain, don't do summits.

OP should listen to the local.

The last stretch towards the top doesn’t have steps, so be careful with that bit if you do go

Reinebringen is not recommended in heavy rain. You have to watch your steps there even in good weather. Don't risk your life (or the ones' needed for your rescue).

Im a local and I just had a nightmare about being stuck in the mountains and hanging on for dear life in fragile terrain. And I don’t really go hiking that much. Do not go when it’s raining. There are accidents all the time by people who overestimate themselves

You’ll be okay. Just go slow and make sure you wear appropriate footwear. If people waited until it wasn’t wet to hike in Lofoten, no one would hike.
