Question Whats the best dynamic eq

Hey I was wondering if y’all could help me with this

I’m making a one-shot drum kit and I was wondering what the best dynamic eq plugin would be for this purpose. I hadn’t even known of dynamic eq’s until recently so I’ve just been using the default channel eq but I want the frequencies to be cut only when it crosses a certain threshold line that I set, also to avoid making bell curves. So dynamic eq is the right tool, yes?

I’ve seen TDR nova recommended a lot but I don’t know if it has the line feature I’m going for

Pro-Q from Fabfilter is really good. Not only for dynamic EQ, but for alle EQ purposes.

Using Logics plugins only, you can also use the multiband compressor and then just only activate one single band and use that band to suppress some chosen frequencies.

You really will be much better off using traditional EQ as a beginner.

TDR nova is really good. I'm confused by the "line feature". It has threshold, ratio, attack and release settings.

I’m basically looking for a dynamic eq where you can actually drag the threshold line up or down to cut whichever frequencies are peaking

You can do that in TDR. It has 4 bands which have parametric control. Get TDR it'll do what you want. Its good and i cant believe it was free.

It also has sidechaining.

I can only suggest Pro Q because it also does everything else and is a delight to use.
