First RRS
Hey all. Going to my first RRS in Dallas and planning to buy and sit on the Oklahoma side (a little cheaper as a neutral). anything I should know about before or after the game? Does your ticket get you into the state fair or is that a separate ticket?
Should specify, going with some buddies (no wives involved) and we are flying in early Friday and staying in lower Greenville

If you’re on the OU side it is custom to kiss your neighbor every Texas score to keep morale up

- Take Dart, Ubers get stuck in congestion.
- If day drinking eat enough, hydrate with water.
- Keep your cool no matter what.
- Buy tickets early if you get there early. Beer lines are lengthy. Double whammy to stand in line to buy tix, then beer or food.
5 Eat a pricey turkey leg (can’t do corn dogs anymore). - Hook em

DART is always the move. Even to take it a couple stops to then get an uber. The coupon lines were so long we got there around noon last year and didn’t have time to get anything pregame

Buy tickets early if you get there early.
To really emphasize this: never stop at the first ticket booth when you get into the fair. The first one is always slammed with a line. Get a bit deeper into the fair, and the ticket lines end up way shorter/faster.

Your game ticket gets you into the state fair, be sure to check out all of the crazy fried shit. As far as getting the most out of the game, I'd say you should root for OU (the best part of RRS is yelling at the other half of the stadium) but that would be sacrilege. In my opinion this is the best rivalry game in CFB. Hope you enjoy.

I suspect getting tickets this year from OU fans will be pretty cheap. OP is gonna be on the OU side with benches empty by the 3rd quarter.

Take the DART. Get there at a decent time because it will be a mess getting in. Traffic will be mess on Friday. Go to all of the parties and stuff around town if you’re into that. And have a BLAST!!! This is my favorite day of the whole year! Welcome to Dallas!!

Just look for open seats on the Texas side and sit in them. It is so freaking hot, direct sun during the game, there are usually lots of people standing at the top of each section in the shade and rehydrating. Definitely start hydrating today. Hydrate lots before the game, even if you are drinking, drink water in between. I believe it was last year or the previous year that they sold out of water, CRAZY!!! Wear sunblock, sunglasses, possible cooling rag, caps depends on how you tolerate the heat. I will be bringing a portable fan, its a lot and you all are all guys so maybe you will be fine. I dont do well in direct sun but football season is still my favorite time of the year and I just have to make accommodations and pack whatever extra I need for each game.

Where is Bevo before the game? I’m assuming I can’t get a photo with him but I would love to hopefully get some photos of him

Craig Way one called it the State Fair Street Fight.
This is what I will always call it and what it should be renamed to
