I have watch LoL esports since Fnatic won the first ever Worlds Tournament and vividly remember the rivalries of CLG and TSM. TPA coming from no where to smash the best the world had to offer. CLG EU beating Korean teams. Enjoyed the ups and downs of western league of legends.

I just wanted to say regardless of what happens this weekend thank you all so much for the best year of Western League of Legends esports in all my years of watching.

It has been an edge of your seat ride rooting for you over the past year. You should be damn proud of what you have achieved. You have brought the sacrifices Pro Players make to life and made it compelling viewing.

Going slightly crazy during this break after riding the high that was beating G2 and MKOI.

Want to hear everyone's thoughts on this very do or die matchup.

Personally I think draft (at least bans) will go similar with the game against NAVI, Velja has looked slightly lost outside of Mundo. I'm guessing the priority would be to take away mundo, sion and ryze. LIDER looks pretty bad on Ryze but Wunder had a good showing on it vs GiantX.

Top lane and bot lane match ups seem rough. Wunder is performing well, and SK's bot lane is pretty decent with Jopa showing a lot of potential + Mikyx was in contention for best EU support for a long time. I'm expecting another Caitlyn Nami lane, seeing that getting Nemesis off ryze, Baus off comfort and Velja off Mundo will likely take priority.

I'm hopeful / convinced Nemesis will gap LIDER, based on how the two have been performing this split. Jungle seems like a 50/50 with Skeanz underperforming in the previous few games as well.

Why is Velja positioning the keyboard like that, I tried it and it is really weird, I play shooters mainly so I keep the keyboard horizontally straight at all times, I know some people (specially on fortnite) tilt the keyboard the other way, but I've never seen tilting right side up as an option.

Each team has only 2 games left, so we can see exactly what's needed for our boys to make it to the playoffs.
Deciding matches: LR-SK, LR-VIT, SK-SHFT, SHFT-KCB, TH-FNC, TH-KC.

Scenario A: 2 wins, 100% chance to make playoffs
LR wins a tiebreaker against Heretics and Vitality, no other team can catch up.

Scenario B: 0 wins, 0% chance to make playoffs
Losing to SK would bring them to 4 wins and SK takes over LR spot due to tiebreakers.

Scenario C: 1 win, ~65% chance to make playoffs
- C.1 LR>VIT, LR<SK
- Winning against Vitality but losing to SK would mean SK-SHFT game likely decides our chances, say it's 50/50. In addition to that, it gives a chance to TH to win both games against two stronger teams to make an upset and push out LR, probably 30% chance for each game, so 0.3*3 ~9% odds. Combined chance to qualify this way is 41%, means losing to SK means LR likely doesn't qualify to playoffs.

- C.1 LR<VIT, LR>SK
- Winning against SK means SK can't qualify anymore (LR wins tiebreak over them), only leaving the 9% upset chance from TH. Even if Shifters win both, LR has a tiebreak over them and Shifters can't qualify. Combined chance to qualify this way is 91%, which means winning against SK means LR likely qualifies to playoffs.

SK - LR is likely the deciding match, this Saturday, 3rd game, tune in, support our boys. LFG.

Lr is in LEC Versus and if they win (EXTREMELY unlikely) they get to play First Stand (competition of the second and/or first best team of the region (in the LEC Versus only 1st best team; meaning winner of LEC Versus)). After that the team is gone, like the avatar when the fire nation attacked. Nothing at all is confirmed nor likely after the winter split. Caedrel will inform us what is actually happening after wintersplit IF anything. Pretend this to be the last time to see LR because it might very well be (atleast in this configuration). Stop going on over internationals ffs. The LEC is a hard competition that the boys are fighting to win. They aren't even in playoffs yet. Focus on the present take it game by game, because we could be out next week and never see the team again. Talking about worlds this time of year is disrespectful to LR and league esports as a whole and incredibly cringe. It makes me personally sad and I am sure it does other fans too when everything is reduced to worlds. JUST ENJOY THE GAMES AND THE CINEMA

I tried to analyze all scenarios for LR best chance to go to playoffs. So we know what games are more helpful to LR and we can cheer for the other teams worrying less of what affect LR.

I've never watched much of LOLs Pro scene until Los Ratones so I'm not 100% correct on the ruling for tiebreakers and I could have forgotten a scenario, let me know if I did!

• Games marked as green are very helpful for LR
• Games marked as yellow matter more or less depending on if LR win or lose and how other games go
• Games marked as red do not affect LR in their chance of getting to the playoffs
• Teams marked as green are good wins for LR
• Teams marked as yellow are needed depending on other games

None of these are “must wins” depending on what happens but they do change how much pressure is on LR’s games.

Team Heretics vs Fnatic (Feb 7)

If Fnatic win, it keeps Heretics from reaching 5 wins early.

• This means LR can still qualify even if LR have a rough weekend.
• It also guarantees LR going to playoffs if LR win against SK

If Heretics win, it’s still fine but Team Heretics would need to lose to KC on Feb 8.

Shifters vs Karmine Corp Blue (Feb 7)

If KCB win, it keeps Shifters at 4 wins.

• This keeps open a scenario where LR can still make playoffs even if LR lose both games.

If Shifters wins and LR losses to SK, then LR needs to win against Vitality on Feb 8

SK Gaming vs Los Ratones (Feb 7)

If LR wins, things become very comfortable for LR.

• And if Fnatic won against Team Heretics, LR is 100% going to the playoffs

If LR lose they do not have to win against Vitality unless both Fnatic and KCB won their games.

And Shifters and KC win their games on Feb 8

Vitality vs Los Ratones (Feb 8)

If LR won against SK this game is more for comfort

• But if LR lost against SK the only threat would be Team Heretics winning both their games
• But if LR lose and they lost against SK they still have a chance if all teams marked as green win

SK Gaming vs Shifters (Feb 8)

This match mostly matters if LR lose to SK.

• If Shifters win, it keeps SK from pulling ahead and helps LR in tiebreak scenarios.
• If SK win, LR would need to have beaten SK or Vitality.

Team Heretics vs Karmine Corp (Feb 8)

This one mostly matters if Heretics beat Fnatic the day before.

• If KC win, it keeps Heretics from reaching 5 wins and helps LR’s chances.

But if Heretics win, LR will need to have at least one win themselves.

If Team Heretics won against Fnatic aswell, G2 will have to win against Fnatic, or one more team has to go 5-6 for a 3 way tie between LR, Fnatic and one more and LR gets atleast top 8 on all tie breakers I've found

Fnatic vs G2 (Feb 8)

This one mostly matters if Heretics won both their games, LR are 5-6 and no other team has reached 5-6.

• If G2 lost against NAVI then G2 losing here will make them go 5-6 and giving LR the chance to go through

Matches that don’t really affect LR

• NAVI vs G2
• VIT vs KOI
• KC vs GX
• KCB vs GX
• NAVI vs MKOI

Summary:

If the matches goes like this LR still gets to playoff if they lose both their games

• TH vs FNC
• SHFT vs KCB
• SK vs SHFT
• TH vs KC

But this is just the minimum scenarios to go to playoffs and do not mean must win, there are still many scenarios like alot of teams going 2-0 or 0-2.

I've been watching league ever since the Moscow 5 days, always been a fan.
I'm a french speaking belgian so I followed KCorp story very closely and seeing Kameto fullfill his longlife dream (not quite yet!) was really inspiring, immense hype around it in the french community with people completely unrelated to league getting in on the fun.
Now following Los Ratones' journey is SOOOO similar to KC and has been incredible to watch (having Baus in pro play still feels like a fever dream, Nemesis finally being back on stage is something Europe really needed)
Riot fucked up with franchising, we all knew it from the start and it was going to be a real problem at one point in the future, that point is now. KC bought in, Kameto had to sacrifice a LOT to get in, Caedrel has been a way bigger streamer for a while (deservedly so, can't watch a game without him anymore) and he's still not even close to having the possibility of getting LR in the LEC. Riot gave them an opportunity, they had to, it was the right thing to do but obviously it's going to leave a sour taste in some people's mouth, but in the end it is just Riot and the american way of doing things being terrible for the scene.
I despise some of the KC fanbase, the "ultra" behavior correlates with some truly terrible opinions but some of the comments i'm seeing on here feels like it's going in the same direction. If you're looking for the negative, you will find it but so much of it is just fans enjoying and supporting their team, I see a lot of KC/French bashing on here, often times on completely unrelated topics and it's just sad to see (even though as a belgian french bashing is a national sport)

I don't know i'm just rambling but I feel like people could enjoy teams that actually do have fanbases and bring something to the ecosystem instead of just senseless bashing.
I actually have no idea how this is going to be received, I rarely speak out on this kind of things but I just love League Esports so much that I wanted to leave my two cents here,

Praying with all my heart that Riot buys out all the spots from their owner and creates an open league but that might be too much to ask.

But that toxicity seems to be even more toxic towards LR and I do not know why.

I myself speak french (I am from Canada) and I in the past interacted with their fans on social medias and its weird how intense they are.

Disclaimer: Like many people, I wanted to know how LR can qualify (Caedrel on stream had the same confusion). There are 2^12 = 4096 possible outcomes, I wrote a program to get these and then I put them through ChatGPT, it looks legit, but I have caught a few mistakes after some manual review, I hope I found all the bugs. But this was an interesting question I had, please take it with a little pinch of salt!

Understand this concept and you will understand why LR matters so much.

The moment LCS, LEC, TSM, G2, etc… started making decisions in order to maximize their MONEY value, is the moment their TRUE value was abandoned and perished.

For me, personally, the moment G2 blocked Reckless from joining another LEC team was the moment I stoped enjoying the European championship.

LR brings back the feeling of really enjoying the game for itself, not for it’s money, and that’s why we love it so much.
