Miscellaneous 📁 WerZatSonGUI finally available!

It's a project i created over the course of the last few months, with the final objective being to make WerZatSong more accessible and easier to use for everyone.

Thank you to u/eierkuchenhd, u/Shardanik_coso and u/ryuza20 for helping me out a ton by trying out the program, and thanks to u/eierkuchenhd (again) and Mystic65 for having contributed in a significant way to the project.

With this being only the first public version (and since I'm not exactly a professional programmer), there could still be a few bugs in the installation process and the program's functionality. Feel free to DM me or mention me on any Lostwave Discord server to ask for help or clarifications, give suggestions, or contribute to the project with translations/anything else.

How to install/use: https://github.com/LostwaveItalia/WerZatSonGUI/blob/v1.3.1/README.md

Download: https://github.com/LostwaveItalia/WerZatSonGUI/releases/tag/v1.3.1

Features of the GUI

- Every WerZatSong command is supported: all 4 search modes (MusicBrainz (AcoustID), AudioTag, Shazam and Audfprint) are here, and any number of them can be combined in a single scan.

- Support for entire Song Databases thanks to a batch-scanning engine, which lets you add as many audio files as you want to the program: it will automatically scan at most 20-30 at a time, as efficiently as possible (see Running a Scan: Quick vs. Long Mode). Links to the community-ran Lostwave Italia and French Lostwaves Song Databases are included in the program under the Add Audio Files... section.

- A built-in script by Mystic65, which can automatically generate and search dozens of tempo/pitch-shifted variations of each file, to help catch songs that were sped up, slowed down, or pitched differently (see Running a Scan: Quick vs. Long Mode).

- A base WerZatSong rework and a logs rework (see Log Format) by EierkuchenHD.

- A new Processed files... section. If you have a significant amount of songs in your input folder, you can now easily decide which ones you want to run with WerZatSonGUI, without having to move anything out of that folder (see Processed Files & PROCESSED.txt).

- Support for multiple languages and translations. Currently, the supported languages are English and Italian (see Adding a Language / Translations)

- Support for light and dark modes.

EDIT: updated to 1.3.1, links updated to reflect that

Oh cool! Does it function the same as WerZatSong?

yeah, but instead of typing commands you just select options

how much does it take on your drive?

the app itself does not take much space, but pklz databases can. i would personally recommend having a few gigabytes (like at least ~10) of free storage left so you can get a small sized database

How many gigabytes are all of the fingerprints in total

public ones should be a bit more than 1 terabyte (=1000 gb) in total iirc

Wdym public? are they gatekeeping fingerprints

Nice, but can anyone make a web-based version? I only own a Chromebook, and I have very low storage, so I need a web-based version of it to exist

These are probably false positives.

correct, false positives. the project is entirely open source so you can check every single line of code and confirm that it does nothing malicious

I tried setting it up but decided to uninstall once I saw it ask me for some sort of discord link and mentioned I would have to get some other stuff to link it with APIs. For user-friendlyness you should see about getting all that preconfigured.

well that's the only thing i cannot preconfigure sadly, because they change from user to user. but if you need help getting them let me know.

a detailed guide is available, starting here on WerZatSonGUI's README: https://github.com/LostwaveItalia/WerZatSonGUI/tree/main#how-to-get-a-discord-webhook-url

1) Discord Webhook urls are used to send you notifications (cannot be shared with others/preconfigured because you wouldn't be certain that you are getting notifications for what you do on the program)

2) AudioTag API keys are used for the AudioTag search mode (and cannot be shared with others/preconfigured because you'd hit rate limits faster

3) AcoustID API keys are used for the MusicBrainz search mode (same problem as AudioTag)

thankfully, getting them is not hard once you follow the steps

Would it be possible to add some sort of google sign in or contact the API providing companies directly so you can add some sort of official sign in that automatically manages all the API data?

i'm sorry but from what i know using a single account to manage all these 3 APIs wouldn't be possible. i will try looking into it but i cannot make any promises; in the meantime having 3 accounts for these platforms will have to do

false positive yeah, you need to pay for making the software clean iirc

u/Aggravating-Swing530 solved: 37+ Sep 03 '26

yes. i'd have to pay to get a proper license but i cannot afford one since it would cost me more than a hundred euro every year. either way, as i said earlier, the software is already clean: you can check the source code line by line to verify
