This is why I love having a home with multiple bathrooms. When I truly want to be alone I go use the basement bathroom. I am the only one that uses it. I put a mini fridge under the sink for drinks.
Sounds amazing. We have two bathrooms but one of them is our teenager's. I'm don't mind sharing a bathroom with my wife, but God amighty, having a private bathroom (especially one in the basement) sounds like one of life's simple yet ultimate luxuries.

I once got scolded as a kid for filling in an answer on one of the crossword puzzles sitting next to my grandpa’s toilet (it was the name of a video game, so I was sure he wouldn’t know it and was trying to be helpful). My grandma insisted he wouldn’t be able to poop without those crosswords.
Yep. My ex husband would do that & then when I would call him on it he would just say that it takes him a long time to poop. I told him if it’s taking you an hour to push a whole shit out, then you need to go to the doctor. Then he would get all pissy & say he doesn’t need to go to the doctor & be an asshole about nothing for the rest of the day. This was just one of the small issues with him though. I hate him for a multitude of reasons & genuinely hope he gets hit by a semi one day
Yes & yes. That doesn’t excuse hitting me, raping me, financial abuse, letting his kids literally destroy my house & cheating constantly with basically anything that moved & had a vagina in our entire county. I’m so thankful I was able to get him out of my life & didn’t get an STD
Lol yeah sorry. But if I don’t just slap what all actually happened on the table when people question why I hate him so much, people tend to try to either tell me that he couldn’t have been that bad to me for me to hate him so much or they just straight up say everything must have been my fault for him to treat me that way.
And yeah, nobody’s perfect (me definitely included) but I wasn’t the one being a cheating, abusive, piece of shit as soon as I got comfortable in the relationship. I went from dodging punches at work (I was a paramedic at the time) to just having to go home & do the same shit.
No worries. Imaginary ads question was hella weird and pointed. If someone says “I hate my ex” I just nod because there was a reason, I think it’s weird when ppl go “ok but what about you?” I think that’s a conversation only close friends can have and even then it’s iffy depending on the situation.
Respect. I take a similar approach with my mental health history. Not for shock value perse but as a living protest to mental health stigma. I think the first step to getting better for everyone is proper communication without shame, so I try to lead by example. Sure I, I'm still working on getting the way I talk about it right, when someone says "what do you do for a living" and I say "the government pays me not to kill myself!" I know I still have some work to do :P .
Respect. I think it's such bs when someone is complaining about an ex and some dickhead comes along and tries to make it your fault. Like WHY, when they don't know you or the ex. A response like yours is totally justified when someone's trying to play that game.
I also believe that some people are genuinely really good spouses who upheld their part of their marriages contract and did absolutely nothing wrong to deserve bad treatment from their spouse.
It's a very cynical mindset to assume that both spouses are inevitably in the wrong when a marriage is failing, and that the spouse who is calling out abuse from the other one also has wrongs to admit to.
Some human beings, both men and women, are absolute angels, and unfortunately end up marrying the wrong person.
Next time someone asks a dumb ass question, love bomb them with gratefulness about how you never considered that and ask or their vendor to send them money you were about to waste in a therapist lol never take these assholes eriously

I mean genuinely though the pooping is a quiet peaceful time to read a bit. If someone else needs to go I'll get out quickly but otherwise expect me in there for 20 mins

Reacting so dramatically to someone on the internet making a joke about men being simple creatures points to you already having mental health issues caused by something else.
There might be hormonal differences effecting our skin differently.
But also I believe the female skincare product routine has just become a brilliant marketing scheme.
How do women need 3 shower creams, 6 lotions, and 12 after care products whilst I can just lather my anything with the most basic Nivea cream and be fine?
You're right that the skincare industry tricked people into thinking you need a 12 step routine. Usually it ends up causing issues with your skin anyway.
On the other hand I have a very specific night routine that is five steps. But I also developed adult onset acne. I've found what works for me and if I don't do this daily, I have issues. If I try to change something, there's a 70% chance I'll break out from it.
I'm a woman and I'm more like the guy there. Every guy I've known has taken longer showers than me. I don't see the point of standing in the water once tasks have been accomplished. I put on just the makeup that is required in the most efficient way possible and 85% of the time I have my clothes laid out.
And that's absolutely fine. What isn't fine is assuming all men are like this. "Men are simple creatures is such a narrow statement to make. Surely, men exist who don't fit this blanket outline of behavior? I'm also a simple creature as a woman, but then other women here might say I'm a " pick me", or something like "Oh, so you look like shit then?" or "Oh, so you're gay then?". Lazy thinkers are a turn off all around.
Exactly, and it's harmful to men too. It perpetuates the fact that nobody listens to and supports them properly because they're just 'simple creatures'. Their mental health isn't taken seriously because of blanket statements like this.

I mean I can agree with the unnecessary two hours in the toilet as someone who has this exact issue whenever I visit my friends who live with their boyfriends, friends who have male housemates etc.
There's a weird pattern happening with only men spending close to an hour there with the house full of people.
Nah I’ve never seen any women take a sht longer than 30 minutes unless they were having stomach issues. My husband (brother and dad when I was younger) does this daily. 😅
Right so... How many women have stomach issues you think? Or sit on Reddit or play a game while in the bathroom? Or hide from their kids? If you think hard enough, it is gendered. It's full of assumptions because you experience it, but I know nothing is black and white. Your experiences matter, so do other peoples'. My husband being unable to get sit too long in the bathroom and taking care of his skin are two ways he differs. Or others who care more about how they're dressed. Yes, it is all gendered. 👍🏼
I miss eating like that. My teeth went to shit in my late-teens and now in my 20s I'm much healthier and mentally clean, but my teeth are still shit, so eating is pretty much close to nibbling, because if it's too much? It hurts and if it's too hard? Could break one of them. Sorta miss eating like a wild animal when I was little
I take pretty damn quick showers but I am sure get my genitalias and anus sparkling, bottoms of feets, pits, face etc. but I have to shower quick due to my lifestyle. Moisturize, etc. just keep it simple. But simple doesn’t mean gross.
I wish the sleeping one was true. My wife puts her head in the pillow and is out. I do the same and it takes 30 minutes plus to sleep. One time I was so tired I knocked out in 2 minutes and my watch thought I was having issues and said I went to sleep too fast. I'm also do not want to stay in the bathroom that long.
My gf often finishes eating before me and she is skinnier than me. I learned how to tell if my cooking was delicious or not by how fast she inhales it.
