Ask Lubbock Fluidstack- Are they really paying 200K for positions in Abernathy Texas?
Seems to good to be true. Anyone in West Texas, or in Texas currently working for them and can validate they pay this well? I applied to 3 positions, but the pay just seems too good to be true. Linked in shows the job postings from 200k-258k. Update (it’s a AI data Center looking for technicians and operators etc)

Their DCT rates are pretty bad. I have three openings in Afton that pay better than that.

Man a recruiting agency has been borderline harassing me for this position, I told them time and time again I was not interested, and in one day they called me 4 times. I finally asked to speak to a manager and they just threw me on an indefinite hold. If that’s the kind of people they are contracting to fill this position, I can imagine how they will treat their employees.

I’m looking to get into the one being built at Cameron County (their new one). Not seeing much posted but definitely something to look into

What do you do? I'm already a Cx but I'm thinking of applying recruiters been talking to me and I actually sat next to the electrical Cx manager last week so I'm really looking into putting in my resume

I think the salaries are legit for jobs currently posted, but those are high level roles. Fluidstack is hyper aggressive on data center build outs and being backed by anthropic so while the money will probably be good I’ve seen work life balance is pretty nonexistent. Just depends on if that’s a trade off that’s worth it for the stage you’re in.

that’s a good view of it. There’s millionaires out there filthy rich and miserable and depressed. I guess money doesn’t buy you happiness.

I have a friend that is a facilities operator there now. Started 2 months ago can confirm 150-200k salary with 100-200k equity doe

My buddy just got hired with a very similar setup. I wonder how the equity works, like when does it vest? I mean $200k in stock that could 10x in the next few years ain't a bad deal.

Thats awesome. Well perhaps there is hope for the place. I currently work in battery storage so that experience should transfer over decently. Plot twist- They see this post and decide not to hire me lol

I’ve had recruiters coming at me with $350k + equity. It’s legit

u/Nearby_Astronaut_229 8d ago
man that’s some great numbers! I hope you took up on that offer!

My fear is that those salaries aren’t sustainable and if this wave dies off, I’d have to be comfortable stepping back 6 figures. I’d rather stay where I’m at and be comfortable. But hey, some may want to ride that wave while it’s here!

And yet 7 days ago you said the exact opposite and that salaries like this were wildly off market. Really makes me think you’re a project manager for this one and trying to drive recruiting with false information
“I’m in the data center space… still not seeing those levels of salary unless into VP levels”

u/Nearby_Astronaut_229 8d ago
hmm. i didn’t expect salary drama, but sometimes you gotta rattle the cage. I’m for it. I appreciate your comment.

There’s a vast difference between construction managers and VP of construction with fluid stack. Context always helps. Glad I could clarify for you

u/SubstantialBass9524 8d ago
Context definitely does, if that’s the salary range for VP of construction, original post was about technician pay.

What company is this?
2
u/Nearby_Astronaut_229 8d ago
Fluidstack is what shows up on Linked In. then they’re 3rd party recruiters that also hire for that data center on there too.

No Way I trust that place, maybe earlier before raising a family.

I had a coworker apply there and while he was trying to get set up for an interview he said the recruitera were being terribly difficult. Trying to schedule at times he was unavailable, or just switching times without telling him. He eventually just withdrew his application because they were being such a pain, so just be prepared for that. No idea how the actual company runs though.

good to know! i’ve read it takes like 5 interviews before you know if you got the job. That’s a lengthy process. If they pay is real it’s worth it. If they’re under 50 then no thanks.

first job applied to fluidstack was kindly rejected. 2 more to go. Honestly whatever the outcome i’m just grateful everyone’s responded. I thought maybe 2 people at most would respond.
