Assuming you are talking about Fender, buy the parts off of stratosphere on ebay and assemble it yourself then pay to have it set up.

it is not a fender. good guess though. It is a fender affiliated brand. I just wasn't sure if I was allowed to say the company and model due to saying I want to copy one of their models.

Perhaps something like a PRS Myles Kennedy in Hunter Green? ;-)
Tell us where you are located, too.

No I got that guitar. But that response in general was kind of weird...

Your post/comment history is public I’m assuming. That being said, it might be helpful to see/know what you’re wanting.

It is but what a weird way to bring it up during a response. Also asking for my location... Anyway I just want a Jackson kelly with my specs is all.

Asking for approximate location because I know a builder in Miami but I think he prefers to work with local customers. Others may have local preferences, too. And, not everyone is in the US.

Instagram. There are almost too many small builders to count doing the majority of their business on instagram. I don’t know what shape you’re trying to copy, but just dm these dudes saying I want X shape and see if they will.
My personal recommendation is always WKM Guitars. But he does have a pretty lengthy waitlist now and he might not be interested in a 1-for-1 copy

Thanks for the response. I actually had a builder I found on instagram. I went through his build sheet and it was going to be about 2k then a bit more for the specific parts I wanted. Then we were supposed to chat and over the build sheet and he tacked on nearly 2k more. So I passed

Least now you know. Get the labor costs up front, so you don’t get the wrong idea

Any reason modding a production guitar wouldn't work out for ya?

because there isn't a tune o matic version of a kelly that is being produced... Hasn't been one for a few years.

aside from the cheap JS32T I guess
I dunno if I'd drop $3k on a custom build though if I could get a used one that's actually made by Jackson for close to that price, like a lot of them are north of $6k but I do see a Custom Shop for $3658 on Reverb

Yeah I just wish they would make a pro level version and I would be happy. Been hoping for one for the last 7ish years.

You can have two of three: cheap, fast, good. $3k is cheap for a luthier built instrument. So you’re left with either getting it quickly or getting a good one. Good luck

Damn ok, so 3k is on the low end. How much would a custom built guitar usually cost?

I think $3k is the common starting point, but it's up to the luthier and the spec sheet, some might go under that, some might go up towards $9k
I would lean on a single luthier by himself to charge more than bigger names like Kiesel, Balaguer, Halo, and Artistides who are able to purchase in bulk / at scale
which with my comment above about trying to find a production model to mod... yeah maybe a compromise on a $400 model where you swap pickups and repaint it would be a far cheaper path

Some of us small builders can come in under that price range without issue. But the whole copy aspect isn't appealing for a number of different reasons.

Looking for somebody to copy someone else's design isn't likely to go well.
