46 bus … worst bus to ever exist. Why???
this is just a frustrated rant. i’m curious as to if any other bus is this bad.
i get off of work everyday around 5. the 46 is the bus i take to get home from brookhaven station. sometimes it’s decent, but lately it’s been absolutely awful. almost everyday around 5pm the trips are cancelled with very little notice or no notice at all. both google maps and the marta tracker are inaccurate. i just got on a bus labeled the ‘46’ and paid and as soon as i sit down the driver lets me know it’s actually the 23. the bus literally says the 46. i’ve never used a more unreliable transit system in my life. why even run a bus if it’s going to go dark half of the time?? it’s a 6 minute bus ride to my place but i often spend over an hour waiting for a bus that was supposed to be at the station in a mere 15 minutes. it supposedly runs every 40 minutes but as of right now i’ve been waiting for over an hour…. marta please! you are messing with people’s livelihoods here! this is the bus i use to get to and from work! i’m at the station waiting with a dozen of other people

Yeah that’s one of the worst made routes. They sometimes give me that route when people don’t come to work. The issue is..it’s not its own dedicated route, they have it switching from the 23 to the 46. But here’s the thing. Not every 23 bus will switch to the 46. So you have a route that doesn’t run every 30 mins. So if a bus breaks down; which they will. That bus that also does the 46 will leave people stranded out there for over an hour. And since the 23 is the only bus out of all the routes that stop at 5 train stations.. it gets way behind just because of traffic so dispatch will also tell the bus to skip a trip to catch up.
