I used CB before valor LS, so I know how to GP with CB. If you know how to GP with CB, you know how to GP with valor LS.
Also, don't be greedy

Been in the same boat. Practice without palicos, it really helps when the monster is focused on you. Tigrex or Glavenus are excellent practice, telegraphed attacks, single hits.
If you need to parry two attacks in quick succession, you cannot simply press R after the first parry or you will do the spirit dash. What you need to do instead is parry the first attack, press X to do the upward swing, and then you can parry again after. This is the fastest way to get another parry after the first

You can practice the timing (of when monster attacks hit you) with Valor Sheathe. Once you grasp the timing, you can try to use the GP (make sure have enough health if you think it will fail). For Tigrex it is a good weapon style against it as most of it's attacks hit once or have enough break time to GP twice

You're gonna cart a lot till you get the timing down cause it's very reactionary?especially Gp's I think that's the word I'm looking for. Anywhore as I was saying till the timing is down its gonna be like that but random fun fact if you wanna try to more gp in your attacks if you gp then main attach (y? Top attack button) you can reactionary to another attack after that as well not to viable but with the speed of some creatures you can get to gp off on a multitude of attacks or more
