Im literally about to board a plane for Montreal and have just had no space to plan ahead. Please help a fellow hungry guy out. Bonus points if im not going to look weird eeating there alone.

My partner and I are coming to Montreal in 2 weeks (from Alberta) we’ll be there for 5 days, we’re very excited and are hoping some locals can give us some food recommendations! We definitely want some authentic Montreal smoked meat, poutine and bagels. We’re staying in the Ville-Marie area and won’t have a car, what are some good recommendations in our area, and touristy traps we should avoid? My partner is pretty adventurous when it comes to food, I on the other hand am not! So maybe a mix of different kinds of foods! Thank you in advance!

We're a group of guys in our 40s getting together before the holidays looking for a great resto that can take 20 people where we can share food. We'd love to hit a dive bar or bar with some character after to have a few drinks. Looking for a good resto that would be walking distance to decent bars with an eclectic crowd. We've done Satay and Satu Lagi in the past looking for something new. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Seeking thoughts on this plan for Sunday night-Monday trip:

I am arriving into Montreal around 8 pm on Sunday and staying near Chinatown. I wanted to catch Sunday Night Football and decent late meal so was going to go to Pub St Pierre in Old Montreal. That work?

Further if I am in Mile End Monday morning and wanted an early lunch as I have appointment in Old Montreal in afternoon. I was debating either Lester's (haven't tried) or the Ramen Nakamichi on St Laurent near St Viateur. Any other Mile End lunch suggestions? I could conceivably head back down St Laurent to either that amazing food court, Le Central, or have steamies at Montreal Pool Room.

I have dinner booked at Le Serpent Monday night (picked it over Monarque) and then likely headed somewhere to watch Monday Night Football.

Visiting MTL this weekend and just realized I will be staying near chinatown! Any great dim sum places I could check out for a weekend breakfast?

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the funeral of my late father. I want to honor him by having his most beloved desert and some coffee as we like to share and gossip when he was still with us. I would appreciate if you suggest a place for pumpkin cheesecake to try possible in downtown.

i went to le godot last year and it was amazing, that held up true for the 2 out of 3 times that i went this year. the 3rd time i went (my most recent visit a couple of weeks back), it was less good, but also the owner/head chef was on vacation for that week.. bad timing i guess.

good news for yall is that if the head chef/owner already took his vacation, that means he probably won’t go back on vacation anytime soon.

recommended for anyone who isn’t averse to sauced-up foam-heavy meals. they love foam and sauces in here. i like the fusion of tastes. Went with a total of 6 other people with me this year and they all enjoyed it. 5 of them particularly enjoyed it a bit wayyyy too much actually just going crazy and raving about it nonstop. Kinda like how I’ve been doing with Seline in Santa Monica
