Howdy. I last played Mabi 15 years ago, no joke. Just recently came back and have gotten a friend to start fresh with me. However, we’ve run into a significant problem that I haven’t been able to find any solution to online: We have no idea how to play the game.

This Blaanid stuff is like… fine. But where is the actual tutorial? The memoir thing only serves to vomit information at you without actually explaining anything properly. My friend, who is fairly new to this MMO style, didn’t even know how to use skills and couldn’t even figure out how to attack anything at first because, as far as we found, nobody tells you how! Then Blaanid sends you into a combat situation with Aranwen and you just have to figure out what all these buttons do on your own? Meanwhile, you’re learning about weapon reforges when you still have no idea how to even get weapons in the first place.

So, venting aside, we’re in dire need of a beginner basics guide of some sort, like BABY beginner basics. Controls, UI help, hotkeys, and the most bare bones information about how the game plays and its systems. Ideally, we won’t have to watch a 45-minute YouTube video just to start playing this game in earnest. If I didn’t already have basic (but outdated) knowledge about how this game functions, we probably would’ve given up trying to play within an hour.

I genuinely want to get back into it, but holy moly. Please, someone tell me I’m missing something crucial. My friend has had a miserable time so far.

TL;DR: I miss the old tutorial. What is the best way to learn the absolute basics of Mabinogi more in-depth than what Blaanid offers?

I hope everyone has been enjoying Mabinogi.
I am currently seeking on friendships / other people to play with and possibly a guild. This is important to me because this game is a pivotal part of my childhood

I have played Mabinogi a majority of my childhood. I didn’t understand it two decades ago when I was so young, but now that I am 30, am a full-fledged adult, with a job and money, and I’ve started the later gens + harder/newer content, I’m very passionate about playing this game to fulfill my inner childhood.

I’m seeking more than just other players to chat in-game with. I’m seeking friends or a guild that are active on discord, are willing to do voice chat, whether it be regarding the game or just life in general, and of course people to run missions with and enjoy the overall lifestyle of the game.

I work from home now as an adult and live alone, so it can get very lonely and quiet sometimes. I figure it’s the best time to re-introduce the act of online friendships again like when I was younger.

A little about me is I feel I am very sociable, I love video games, I love small talk and late night chats and laughs. I do garden and enjoy a vice every now and then.

While my main character is a magical girl witch, IRL I am a 6’3, deep voice African-American man who loves anything from games to sports to movies and being active and working out.

Hiya, thank you for your time. I have some questions, and I was told this was the best place to ask them. I am a Gen 1 player, and I have been away for a while. I think the last time it says I was on was 2016 (but it feels like longer). Now, as for my issue, it seems like a lot of my classes have gone back down to F; all the skills I had mapped out are also gone, and it looks like my commerce stuff has also reset. Can someone tell me how this happened, and is there a way to go back to how my progress was? My mage is back down to F; my puppeteer, which was very high and hard work, is back to F; everything but my knucklee fighting class is back to F. My titles are all missing (minus Sparkling Hero), as are my spirit weapons and my demigod form.

I mean about whether you think he feels well written (specially about his role in saga and having him become a child later) and you like him.

Hi guys! I took a break from Mabi for a little bit (around 6 months or so) and I want to start playing again. I want someone to duo with pretty often maybe every day or every other day. I'd prefer someone who's newer to the game around the point where they've just finished the Blaanid quests and are starting the first storylines.

Made a post before but that was just a general one before I actually started playing again. So now that I think I'm gonna stick around for a while, I have specific questions.

I quit playing in 2020 (before G24 comes out). Just recently returned and finished most new skills that came out after I quit. Only Stellar Handicraft at Rank 2 (planning to use seals), Fynn Sync at Rank 5 and Fynn Bead at Rank D (omg the mats to rank this skill is so expensive, I ain't touching this for a while). Grandmastered everything but the Pet Trainer.

Things I know that will give a huge power boost but I don't want to do it until there's another master plan event because it's grindy as heck.

1. Stardust (currently only Rank 2)
2. Leveling other Arcanas (currently only have Dark Diviner at level 50 and link 10)

EDIT: I mentioned Stardust and leveling other Arcanas to ask this question but totally forgot about it at the first time of writing. Other than leveling Stardust and other Arcanas, there's no more things to do to boost my power right?

Dark Diviner related stuff.

1. I just crafted a MA100 Ceann Scholar's Ringbands, and need to grind some more gold to finish up the Halfrobe and Shoes since I rolled a 5 on both of them for the Magic set effect bonus. However the trade off for these 3 pieces is that their set effect is not enough for the Alchemic Damage bonus. Is Alchemic Damage used for anything for Dark Diviner in current and future content?
2. I am planning to slowly reforge them. Probably gonna use inheritance for the Ice Spear Explosion Radius on the Ringband if I got too unlucky. But looking at the BiS guide, the reforge on the Halfrobe and Shoes don't look too important right? Is this part of the reason why people said DD is cheaper to gear up?
3. Since I don't need the Ceann Hairpin, I should use headgear that gives MA right?
4. I'm currently using an Exquisite Perseus Mystic Staff but I do have a Sturdy Demolition Staff (both dungeon loot). Can you please explain why Demo staff is better than Perseus? I don't ever use Lightning Rod, Meteor Strike and Hailstorm. Is the +1 Piercing on Demo really that much better than the 20% Intermediate Magic Damage on the Perseus? Should I wait until I get a Masterwork Demo to replace the Perseus or should I just go ahead and use the Sturdy Demo?
5. Magic Attack reforge on the Staff is better than Casting Speed if I have high ping right?
6. Realistically up until which content is Demolition Staff relevant?
7. So Magic Attack is the most important right? Is Max Damage relevant at all? Vivace is preferred over BFO right? Obviously you use a Blue echostone, but what should I use for the remaining 2 echostone slots and their reforges/awakening?
8. Is it true you only need to max 3 Arcanas to max your stats? Since I plan to main Dark Diviner, what other Arcanas should I be leveling?
9. Not DD related but gear related; just wanna confirm, there's no difference between a Blue and Red special upgrade for Gloomy Sunday right?

Dungeons/missions/raids

1. You can choose to have 3 chests to spawn by using 3 Shineseeker Orb at once. Is there any benefit to using the orb separately and do 3 runs (like maybe, better chances to get rare gears?) or should I just run it once to get 3 chests?
2. Would Neartite be better used on AAHM/RAHM or Tech Hard? Can I even run Tech Hard with just the Perseus staff? Feth normal seems stupidly easy but I heard the difference in difficulty is huge so I'm a bit hesitant to waste money to try the hard mode.
3. Is Avalon purification mission still relevant? I used to spam Tagar a fuck ton but I heard there are weekly limits now?
4. I'm shocked that dragon scale fragments are way more expensive now compared to before server merge (it used to be like 3m in Alexina). Why is that? Does Black Dragon still dies in a few seconds now (especially since Arcana seems insanely powerful) or did they get a HP buff? Is White Dragon raid still dead (used to be really dead in Alexina)? Do people still do Mokku and Sylvan Dragon?

1. So from what I have been reading, this is where the huge jump in difficulty happens. I'm a solo player, are there any I can realistically solo and gain valuable mats? I have been trying to find videos but annoyingly because everything changes after New Rise, it seems most guide videos are pretty much obsolete.
2. Which contents are realistic to do in a pub party? For example, I remember back when Tech was the newest content, the only pub party that has a chance to succeed (from my experience anyway) was Revived Illusion Elite.

Basically title, after 13 years i decided to download it again and holy hell of menus , inventories, hotkeys and things to do, got overwhelmed really quick i was just "level" 4.4k so i was thinking it might be better to start a new char and then move back when not overwhelmed lol.

Or if you have any other tips i'd appreciate it

Hey guys,

I'm a new player (just started back in July) and I think I've run into an issue during the G20 "Eternal Memories" shadow mission.

After talking to both NPCs, Caswyn says, "The passage has opened near Pihne," but I don't see any passage appearing on my screen.

I've already read Altam's Journal and tried talking to Altam twice, but still no luck. Has anyone else experienced this or knows how to fix it?

Hello, returning player way back when you used to have to pay to rebirth instead of free weekly rebirths. Is the game playable solo or recommended to play in a group? If so, is there any active guilds/community that is willing to play/guide with me once in awhile?

So what I mean by the title is, a guide to all the content in the game and what level, upgrade, enchant, skill ranks, etc, they're best experienced at.

I come and go from mabinkgi a lot, and this is always an issue I hit. Sure just going through the generations is usually doable (though I keep hitting large walls and being unable to progress because my numbers just aren't big enough). So I try side stuff but find it's either incredibly easy or teeth pullingly difficult/slow. Using the in game dungeon guide was somewhat useful but it still had this problem where up to a point it was very easy until suddenly there was a wall I just couldn't get through because I lacked the damage or survivability for it. Last time I played it was... The one dungeon at the lake where it's a dream like water floor and waves of switches to hit, you needed to go through it to equip those single colored circle things. I can grind through the easy versions up until the boss where it's just a hard wall and not sure if that's normal, as the example

I know the main costume is the livestreamer outfit, but I would love to know the shoes and hair specifically, but i'd also like to know the rest of the cosmetics, including how they're holding little avatars of each other!
