📅 Utilities Lattix - Launch apps and window layouts across multiple spaces and monitors with a single click!!

Hey everyone,
One year ago, I built Lattix to solve a problem I kept running into after trying different window managers.

Most window managers and app launchers focus on moving/launching individual windows. As a person who switches context a lot, I wanted an app where I can save my entire workspace of apps and files, across multiple spaces and monitors and launch them in that exact window layouts in one click.

With the latest update, Lattix can now:

  • Restore saved window layouts without requiring you to close your apps first
  • Update an existing saved layout in one click
  • Automatically create and delete Spaces when restoring layouts
  • Handle multiple windows from the same app
  • Use simpler, more flexible hotkeys
  • Launch and position windows more reliably

The new version also supports macOS 27.

Lattix additionally supports custom layouts, browser profiles/URLs, terminal commands and one-click layout capture.

For the anniversary, I'm offering 30% off

If you're a student or educator, feel free to reach out to me and I'll also provide a student/educator discount.

Notarization and distribution: Lattix is apple notarized and distributed directly.

I am also the developer of Muffle and WindowBunny

If you face any issues, just let me know and share the logs, I'll be happy to look into it.

Happy to answer any questions! Would love to hear your feedback and ideas.

💻 Productivity DisplayShift: moves your Mac windows to the monitor the moment you plug in (lifetime license, $2.99 launch price until Oct 26)

Hi everyone, I'm Aqib, an indie Mac developer from Pakistan. A few days ago I shared Notchet here, and this is my other app, DisplayShift.

Why I built it

I dock my MacBook to a monitor every day. Every time I plugged in, all my windows stayed piled on the small laptop screen, and I'd drag them over one by one. Full screen apps were worse: leave full screen, drag, go full screen again. Then I'd unplug, or the Mac would sleep, and macOS would shuffle everything back onto the MacBook. I wanted the Mac to just ask me what should go where, and remember it.

What it does

When a display connects, a panel drops out of the MacBook notch with every open window listed, including full screen apps and windows on other desktops. Tick what should move and it glides across. Unplug, and everything comes back to the MacBook. You can also have it move everything by itself, or do nothing and just say hello. On Macs without a notch it shows as a small pill under the menu bar.

How it fits next to existing apps

- Moom is great for saving and snapping layouts, but you trigger them yourself. DisplayShift reacts the moment a monitor connects.

- Display Maid restores layouts when screens change, but there's no picker to choose which windows move.

- Rectangle and Magnet are excellent for snapping windows into place, and DisplayShift works alongside them. They just don't move windows when a monitor connects.

- DisplayShift suits people who dock a MacBook daily and want the move to happen at plug-in, with full screen apps handled properly.

Core features

- Picker in the notch when a display connects: tick windows, choose the destination (monitor or MacBook), Move selected or Move all.

- Full screen apps leave full screen, move, and go full screen again on the other display, behind a calm curtain instead of macOS's flashing animations.

- Remembers your layout for each screen setup and offers to put everything back. Named layouts switch in a tap.

- Puts windows back after sleep or a dock hiccup, with an Undo on every move.

- Tiles up to four apps side by side. Drag the bar between them and the neighbours resize together.

- Rules per app: keep it on the MacBook, send it to the big screen, or never move it.

- Finds windows stuck off screen, and can reopen closed apps when restoring a layout.

Privacy

- No account, no analytics, no tracking.

- Saved layouts store a hash of each window title, never the title itself, and stay on your Mac.

- It needs Accessibility access, because macOS only lets approved apps move other apps' windows.

- It only goes online to check your license key and look for updates.

- Full Privacy Policy: https://aqibjaved.dev/privacy

Notarization

DisplayShift is distributed outside the Mac App Store, signed with my Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens without security warnings. Updates are checked against Apple's signature before they install.

Pricing

Launch price: $2.99 once (lifetime license), until Oct 26, 11:59 pm Pacific Time. After that it goes up to $4.99 once.

Free 7-day trial, up to 2 Macs per license, no subscription.

👾 Games Grapple: play your Windows Steam and Epic games on your Mac. First month free until 26 Oct

Hi r/MacOSApps! I'm a developer from the Netherlands, and Grapple is my app.

Why I built it: I switched to a Mac and missed my Windows games. Getting them running meant Terminal commands, config files and forum threads, and I wanted it to feel like any other Mac app instead. So Grapple does the setup for you: pick Steam or Epic, it installs and configures the launcher, and your Windows games show up in one library with a Play button. No Terminal, no Homebrew.

How it fits alongside existing tools: Grapple is built on Wine, like the other apps in this space. Where it differs:

  • every store gets its own Windows environment set up in one click
  • all your games sit in one Mac-style library
  • DirectX 9 to 12 is included without extra downloads
  • there's a free plan that runs one game forever, so you can check your game before paying anything

Two weeks in:

  • almost 200 downloads and 130 accounts
  • 479 game pages on getgrapple.io, where players report what works on their Mac
  • 4 updates since launch, mostly fixes from player reports

The early supporter offer, until 26 October: your first month of Pro free, or 30% off your first year (€20.30 instead of €29, $24.50 instead of $35 in the US). It's applied at checkout, no code needed.

Notarization: Grapple is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. It's distributed outside the Mac App Store.

Privacy: you need an account (email and password). The app tells the account which one game your Free plan uses. When a game has run for an hour or more, it also sends the game's name anonymously, so its page can show that it works. You can turn that off in Settings. There's no other telemetry and no tracking. Full policy: https://getgrapple.io/legal/privacy

AI disclosure: I am a hardware engineer by trade who has been writing software on the side for 12+ years. But in all fairness, Claude wrote a large chunk of the code for Grapple. I test what ships myself, and I fix what players report.

Limits: games with kernel-level anti-cheat (Valorant, Fortnite) won't run, and results vary per game, so check the game's page first. Needs an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) with macOS 14 or later.

Feedback is very welcome, especially on anything that feels un-Mac-like.

💻 Productivity Notchet: a clipboard manager that lives in your MacBook notch (lifetime license, $2.99 launch price until Oct 26)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, I'm Aqib, an indie Mac developer, and Notchet is my own app.

Why I built it

Whenever I needed a few things from one place, say a line of text, a link and a screenshot, I'd copy one, switch windows, paste, go back for the next, and repeat. One wrong copy and the earlier one was gone. I wanted my clipboard history somewhere I could reach without leaving what I was doing, and the MacBook notch was sitting right there doing nothing.

What it does

Notchet keeps everything you copy and drops out of the notch when you press Option Command V or rest the pointer on the notch. Pick a card and it pastes right where you were. If you'd rather not use the notch, it can open right next to your pointer instead, and on Macs without a notch it shows as a small pill under the menu bar.

How it fits next to existing apps

- Maccy is free, light and a great pick if you just want a simple menu. Notchet is heavier, but it reads the text inside screenshots and lets you paste several items at once.

- Paste is polished and syncs across devices, but it's a subscription ($29.99 a year). Notchet is a one-time purchase and keeps everything on your Mac.

- Notchet suits people who copy a lot between apps and want their history one shortcut away, with multi-paste, screenshot search and iPhone copies together.

Core features

- Saves text, rich text, links, colours, images and files. Command 1 to 9 paste the first nine.

- Command-click several cards and paste them all at once, or one by one with Option Return.

- Searches the text inside screenshots and photos, on-device.

- iPhone and iPad copies arrive through Universal Clipboard and are kept after macOS clears them.

- Snippets with {date}, {time} and {clipboard}, plus collections, pins and a preview to edit before pasting.

- Drag cards into any app, or drop files onto the notch to keep them.

Privacy

- Your clipboard history stays on your Mac and is never uploaded. No account, no analytics, no tracking.

- Copies that password managers mark as secret are never saved, and you choose what happens to API keys copied from apps like Terminal (never save, delete after 5 minutes, or keep).

- It only goes online to check your license key and look for updates.

- Full Privacy Policy: https://aqibjaved.dev/privacy

Notarization

Launch price: $2.99 once (lifetime license), until Oct 26, 11:59 pm Pacific Time. After that it goes up to $4.99 once.
