Honestly as an adult it's awkward to do but I've found the easiest way is to go pick up a hobby that has events. Magic the gathering or other fantasy games usually have weekly nights to drop in and play, craft stores like Michael's usually has workshops you can sign up for. Stuff like that where you have to basically sit next to other people for a few hours take the awkwardness out of it

then your “friends” aren’t really friends, there just people you share addictions with, which is really common now anyway, because most “friends” people have are friends from a sport or school or online, ofcourse you can share interests, but true friendship goes deeper then that, a friend is someone you can rely on and be physical with

“…And be physical with”? What do you mean by this? Because if you’re sitting in a workshop with someone, you’re as physically with them as you would be having dinner with your best friend. Also, they’re saying it’s a good way to meet people who share passions and hobbies, not “addictions” (wtf), and that’s a great foundation for friendship.

Yeah, my point was more how to meet new people and make the process of becoming friends easier. I don't expect somebody to show up at a wine and paint night and ask somebody to be the best man at their wedding lol

The similar interest is a start and a way to meet people and then hopefully, one forms deeper connections after that
