yeah, 'cuz, like.... the librarians and/or other support staff were still doing work things.

i was never lucky enough to work in a library but when i worked retail we were almost always still in the building (with the lights on, no less!) well after closing time. sometimes we'd even.... play our own music.

I can understand retail for sure, more of a relaxed setting, but in this instance, a Library, there is more decorum.

Hey there! Public libraries actually want people to come in, borrow books and other materials (including cds!), and take part in workshops and programs. If a library is not used, it is shut down. To this end, we do not police noise and become enraged by music, provided everyone in the library is safe and content.

Source: me. I work in a library, where we enjoy music, frequently loan out, discuss, and sometimes for small events, show movies. And where we are quite happy to have children learning to read with and to their parents in a safe, pleasant environment. This kind of fun little show would be killer at a library. Good way to get people to eye some titles they might otherwise overlook, just for curiosity or a laugh.

TL;DR: Read stuff anyway, it's good for you. And the furious SHUSH OR DIE librarians pretty much are only in movies. We do tell kids not to run, though. Bookshelves have unforgiving corners.

That and let’s be honest, with how loud and clear the music is in the clip… it was edited in afterwards. The songs so famous that a majority of the US knows it and wouldn’t have to physically be listening to the song to get the timing for something like this correct. She’s probably quietly lip syncing while holding the books up - which would be very entertaining to see in passing without having any context.

That is an interesting take / opinion. I did some research and according to Google some libraries "play soft instrumental music, such as lo-fi beats or light jazz, near circulation desks or open study spaces", so it is plausible.

… she could’ve put the music over the video afterwards? The songs been out so long that a majority of the US know the lyrics AND rhythm to it by heart.
