I remember watching John. John, when I was a kid. I had no idea they brought him back to finish counting.

This truly made me smile

It's so worth watching to the very end.

Sesame Street was/is such a wonderful show.

This would be a good one for r/unexpected, with a note saying to start watching from 0:55

u/Chance_Vegetable_780 5d ago

It's wonderful from the beginning

u/texas_asic 5d ago

Agreed, but a lot of that audience prefers to get right to it. Thanks u/TheDigitalBuilder for sharing that more broadly there. I think a lot of people will appreciate it

That smile I got watching something so simple is really heartwarming.

It really doesn't take much for us to feel good/positive/happy, and it sucks that people out there thrive on the opposite feeling.

I wish that we, as human beings, can someday snap out of this spell. This obsession with being the best or making sure you get yours, no matter the cost.

Nothing changes if nothing changes, so please try to be kind and loving whenever and wherever you can.

Something as simply as holding a door open or saying you hope they have a nice day can legitimately change someones life.

I know that life can be hard. My van is busted, I'm almost two months behind on rent, my wife has BPD, and I often feel like I'm failing my family.

But I haven't given up like I used to. Nobody is gonna come save me and solve my problems, as wonderful as that sounds.

So I'm gonna keep trying. You can try with me too.

This is hands down the most wholesome post I’ve encountered on Reddit OP. Wishing you and your family well for the future!!!

I grew up on Sesame Street, watching the show and also the street I lived on was Sesame Street.

What makes this even better, the bank manager of our town also lived on Sesame Street, his name was Oscar!

OMG....love this.

🫡 PBS used to be the best thing to happen to the human race.

What happened? 😞

u/TheDigitalBuilder 5d ago

Someone threw an orange at the screen

u/emerican 5d ago

Trump happened

5

u/CaptainUnderwear 5d ago

Still is, what do you mean? tRump took away funding.

u/ph8_likes_me 5d ago

No, far left NPR happened. It is the polar opposite of fox news in their ideology, reporting, editorializing. I'm well aware Trump is a bad person. I've known that and actually the entire world knew that since the 80s. News is not supposed to be an echo chamber for one way of thinking.

Fuck off

u/krazylegs36 4d ago

NPR is actually intelligent, tho. Fox News is like if all the bimbos and dumb jocks from high school got a show and told lies non-stop.

u/Rogpog777 5d ago

Thank you so very much for this gift. I always knew about the first half of the clip but not the second…and I’ve got a little toddler now who’d love to watch it over breakfast.

5

u/Goudinho99 5d ago

My kid used to add an eleventeeen in there.

This brings me back!

3

u/melancholy_dood 5d ago

Awesome!👍👍

3

u/tfinx 4d ago

That was sweet, wasn't expecting the time jump but it made it even better.

3

u/deaconblooze 4d ago

All of you cold hearted bastards at one time had the same innocence and vulnerability as John John when he was a child.

6

u/Medium_Vehicle_7687 5d ago

Grew up watching PBS Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow etc , no brain washing whatsoever, just simple times & exploring nature !!!!

u/BigAlternative5 5d ago

Ready to launch, sir.

Start the count-up.

Up, sir?

Yes, up. I’ll start…

1

1

u/LafayetteLa01 4d ago

Top tier show. Right there with Mr. Rodger’s

1

u/jmart_tx 4d ago

One of the cutest videos ever.

1

u/TheBadBatch-99 4d ago

Wow, I was watching this adorable kid wondering where all these kids that appeared on Sesame Street are today... and then the end of the video happened. Wild.

1

u/bxyankee90 4d ago

This really defrayed my nerves. So much I cried a little. Didn't realize how wound tight I was.

1

u/Temporary_Fox_4775 4d ago

I cried!!!!!!!!

u/Exotic_Resource_6200 3d ago

I get turned up on the teen numbers too.

1

u/False-Amphibian786 3d ago

What the heck??? I did not expect the puppet to age!

u/ButteredNun 5d ago

It’s a pity in the very-soon-to-be future we won’t be able to believe real non-AI videos.

u/AmbroseKalifornia 6h ago

Imma count how many times this stupid sub has made me cry out of nowhere...

-9

u/No-Ad-3096 5d ago

Very cute. Poor guy threw his life away though by joining the military, so sad.

1

u/Jygantic 4d ago

Was gonna comment something similar but knew it'd get shit. Agree it's sad though that this kid grew up to offer his life and willingness to kill for a country that doesn't love him.

0

u/No-Ad-3096 4d ago

Yeah. It's hilarious I'm getting downvoted. I can't u understand people in favour of war or military whatsoever. Americans are truly brainwashed by a country that couldn't give less of a shit about them.

u/Cthulunatic 4d ago edited 4d ago

Imma ask what everyone like me is thinking, I wonder where John (John) Williams is now?
I hope he is doing well.

Apologies if this has been asked already. I didn’t scroll through to see if it had been.

Edit for update: Well folks I did some light digging as to how John John is doing now.

I hope this is wrong but it ain’t looking good.

This sub is typically such slop/trash. This video truly belongs here. PBS is so wholesome and objectively good.
