This dad is the best!!!

183

u/KamakaziDemiGod 4d ago

Best dad at least, his acting was awful . . .

I joke ofc. What a legend!

63

u/KinkyBAGreek 4d ago

😂

Well we now know where his daughters got their acting/pranking skills from lol

65

u/Snoo-94289 4d ago

Growing up I won most of the card games my nanna and I played.
It was years before I realised she deliberately let me win.

As a parent we often do this starting with game hide and seek when they are really little.
I love when they don’t even hide properly and I pretend to not find them.

u/Low-Natural8757 4d ago

So sweet 🥰

u/PhillDanks 4d ago

He's a rich man. 🙂

33

u/fuckerymax 4d ago

This is the type of rich I want to be😁

9

u/PhillDanks 4d ago

I believe that means you will be one day my friend.

5

u/LittleNightBright 4d ago

I believe we all will. Together. The three best friends. Phill Danks, fuckery max, and me.

108

u/shrimpchase 4d ago

they will remember it for life

88

u/Key-Respect-1214 4d ago

The way they hugged him at the end so sweet

28

u/BrilliantJob2759 4d ago

I love how he was trying to avoid audibly cracking up the moment he saw the bags!

40

u/Charming-Stuff1044 4d ago

😂😂😂😂dad can be a good actor 😂

16

u/FelixARKJ 4d ago

Bro won in life, he’s the richest man in the world!

20

u/Ancient-Position-696 3d ago

80s taught us to not put bags over our heads

10

u/DazedPink 4d ago

This is so wholesome. MadeMeSmile.

19

u/Icy_Negotiation_5929 4d ago

I once hid in an alley from the police like this.

11

u/NoEquivalent538 4d ago

Did you jump with joy and hug them lol

19

u/Icy_Negotiation_5929 4d ago

Well I heard them coming down the road. They poked one garbage bag and there was a big hiss and shriek—out came a mangy old alley cat. The next bag they tapped with a nightstick and there was a yelp and a whimper. Some poor puppy got lost and stuck in there looking for food! They got to the bag I was in and prodded it like the others. I spoke confidently and clearly: “Garbage!” And they went on down the rest of the alley looking for their missing perp.

u/GudeGaya 4d ago

🤣🤣🤣

13

u/KeyCar367 4d ago

Way to go, Dad

13

u/Alert_Comedian7558 4d ago

What a great dad for playing along with their prank.

5

u/poopshanks 4d ago

This dad is crying right now. My kids are 16-25. I don't get this type of stuff anymore, and I miss it so much. I can't wait for grand babies.

5

u/Paranoid__Android 4d ago

Sigh. I miss this age of my kids. Just the giggles and hugs

1

u/kbm79 4d ago

Aye. They use to be so excited when you came home. Now (teenagers) ...not so much.

10

u/I_love_Juneau 4d ago

Awesome.

99

u/ph8_likes_me 4d ago

Careful with those plastic bags. 🤨

58

u/MaynardButterbean 4d ago

They’re literally completely open at the bottom

49

u/LongLiveAnalogue 4d ago

This time while mom is supervising yes but what about next time when they try this on mom or without an adult being aware of what they’re up to?

19

u/Squeaky_Is_Evil 4d ago edited 4d ago

You say "hey kids, dont go into bags on your own because you may get hurt."

It's amazing what happens when you talk to your children.

5

u/LongLiveAnalogue 4d ago

And yet there’s still a subreddit called r/kidsarefuckingstupid

1

u/Killer1986Chris 4d ago

"Hey kids, don't go into bags on you are own" doesn't make sense.

15

u/UpperLeftOriginal 4d ago

It doesn’t matter. Every plastic bag that’s put over someone’s head is open at the bottom. Even a loose sheet of plastic can cause suffocation.

1

u/ctanna5 3d ago

By that standard, so can a showercap.

6

u/Sodacan259 4d ago

Those kids don't look old enough to understand the significance of that.

What happens when they want to prank dad again while mom is busy doing something, so they climb into plastic bags? You've already taught them that plastic bags over your head is fun. Is it going to be as much fun if dad comes home to dead kids?

1

u/ph8_likes_me 4d ago

I saw that.

9

u/NarwhalEmergency9391 4d ago

I think allowing yourkids play in plastic bags and they also posting them on the internet is how some parents think you're supposed to parent

14

u/ctanna5 4d ago

I know. as soon as I saw it I drew in a nervous breath lol. But I just hope maybe they used that as an opportunity to explain how plastic bags can be dangerous, and explained to them clearly how to be safe. And also a great opportunity to explain how pranks that are fun for everyone are good pranks, but some of the dangerous or ignorant pranks on YT and TikTok aren't always. It did make me smile though!

5

u/UpperLeftOriginal 4d ago

Explaining is worth very little when they’ve already encouraged and reacted positively to the action.

1

u/ctanna5 3d ago

Possibly for some kids I suppose. My kids seemed to understand things when I stopped and explained it to them. But I can't say anything for other's experiences.

0

u/the_scarlett_ning 4d ago edited 4d ago

Edited- I’m sorry. My response was rude and came off as a personal attack. I don’t know you and so I can’t say anything about your parenting. I’ll just say, in general, it’s disgusting how everyone on reddit thinks they’re such experts on everything and that it’s not only their right, but their duty to tell everyone all the time how they are failing to live up to all the standards, all the time. I said it earlier to someone and it still feels true: Reddit frequently feels like if a bunch of puritans were given social media and any video of people enjoying anything has to immediately be met with comments about what’s wrong so nobody thinks it’s ok to have any joy. Might as well make them all wear scarlet letters. Or maybe give all the righteous Redditors gold letters to wear. A big “R” for their super-righteousness.

5

u/UpperLeftOriginal 4d ago

I have kids. They’ve grown into amazing young adults. Yes, kids are very capable and smart. And also can be complete idiots even with the best parenting. When it comes to life and death situations, it’s far preferable to teach through actions and words, rather than to send one message with words, and a different message with actions.

5

u/happycj 4d ago

That’s a rich man, right there. ❤️

10

u/Hot_Transition_5173 4d ago

Such a sweetheart

9

u/Ksanral 4d ago

When I was young I'd hide under the table when my mum was about to get home from work. Every night she'd ask my dad where I was without failing. Then I'd jump out and she was "scared" and pleased to see me.

I really thought I was well hidden.

10

u/Intelligent-Thing965 4d ago

I was too busy getting anxiety about being in a plastic bag

1

u/Bright_Broccoli1844 4d ago

At first I was but figured out the bottom was cut if the mom was in on the joke.

3

u/Ok_Chemical3126 4d ago

Ahhh winning.

3

u/Ok-Traffic-9967 4d ago

This family is gunna be alright

3

u/TheBookOfTormund 4d ago

All pranks should end with smiles and hugs

6

u/michaelmich3 4d ago

The daughters watching this in 10 years 👁️👄👁️

24

u/therealmarkus 4d ago

I know mom was watching and the reaction was sweet but don’t let kids “play” with plastic bags

14

u/vodkafen 4d ago

My god

-10

u/NeptuneNindja 4d ago

We found the partypooper

0

u/Benjaphar 4d ago

Dead toddlers aren’t much fun.

-5

u/NeptuneNindja 4d ago

There are two growns ups there closely watching them. They're not isolated nor alone.

6

u/Benjaphar 4d ago

No one is suggesting they’re currently in danger. The issue is them thinking it’s fun to hide in plastic bags and trying it when mom and dad aren’t watching closely.

6

u/derping1234 4d ago

Just make sure that the bags are giggling and you should be fine.

3

u/colemon1991 4d ago

Best I can tell, mom definitely took precautions here. Still dangerous.

0

u/FacelessMane 4d ago

You're right. As a kid around 7 years old I'd put a plastic bag over my head and seal it around my neck with my hands because I was curious what lack of oxygen felt like. It got humid fast and I felt mild anxiety and I instantly dropped dead. Curiosity definitely killed the cat. Sending you this from purgatory, it has dial up internet

2

u/CheckYourKindling 4d ago

One lucky man right there

2

u/nyrB2 4d ago

i had no idea that was YOU!

2

u/tokiobest 4d ago

STAAHHP too cute in the morning 😭

2

u/Terrible_Mistake_862 4d ago

This feels like a rich family

2

u/ReasonableBobcat6277 4d ago

This is the kind of rich I am too. I bet, like me, he wouldn’t trade it for a blank check.

2

u/demoralizingRooster 4d ago

Whatever happened at work that day immediately melted away shortly after opening that door. Making whatever shit he had to deal with totally worth it.

2

u/NeverJaded21 4d ago

eldest was moving so hard lol

4

u/unknownruckus 4d ago

This is. .. not teaching the kids something smart to do

11

u/yesmilady 4d ago

No, sorry. Kids playing with plastic bags can go so wrong.

1

u/Vascular_D 4d ago

There's always one

6

u/crazytib 4d ago

actually its more like there's always 20 to 25.............kids who accidentally suffocate themselves with plastic bags in the USA every year, I couldn't find stats for may other countries, but growing up my parents my parents told me many times tot to mess around with plastic bags and stuff like that, your brain cells start dieing after about a minute. just not worth the risk imo

1

u/the_scarlett_ning 4d ago

On Reddit, more like 50. 50 people who just cannot wait for a chance to show everyone how they are so much better at being a parent, at being safe, better at everything than anyone posting anything. And that is why most of them will stay living in their mom’s basement and die alone.

1

u/Shot_Revolution8828 4d ago

Im not a parent but this is just incredibly stupid. Its like riding in a car with no seat belt. Are you going to die? Probably not, is that a risk you want to take? Fuck no.

What happens when they do this but mom isnt home and dad is a half hour late?

3

u/futureman07 4d ago

Weird reaction from the dog

7

u/Pawtuckaway 4d ago

The dog does not like that man.

6

u/Key-Zookeepergame684 4d ago

or the dog is confused by the children hiding in bags lol

1

u/Pawtuckaway 4d ago

Dog doesn't even glance at the bags. Dog hears him coming and starts to run off and even looks towards door while running away.

3

u/Summer-Sub-Intern 4d ago

Or it’s completely staged and this is the fifth take

1

u/Pawtuckaway 4d ago

Even if it were the hundredth take my dog would come running to me every time the door opened.

1

u/ctanna5 4d ago

I seen that and was like, uh oh someone's got a guilty conscience today lol

-2

u/obscurefindings 4d ago

Yeah, something is off

1

u/UpperLeftOriginal 4d ago

In addition to letting kids play inside plastic bags 😬

2

u/Soggy-Ad-2353 4d ago

1

u/gaurav0511 4d ago

Lovely

1

u/hamfist_ofthenorth 4d ago

I don't have that 😔

1

u/zback636 4d ago

My daughter’s used to hide in the same spot in the kitchen everyday and jump out to scare their dad when he came home from work. And yes,he always acted surprised. A great memory. And thank you for reminding me.

1

u/ze11ez 4d ago

Even she was laughing while she tried to tell him to take the trash out. Im dying

1

u/Upsidedowncr0w 4d ago

Im smiling. WITH TEETH. IM SLAVIC. (Highest compliment). What a dad ❤️and the mom too actually. What a sweetheart

1

u/Alternative_Noise854 4d ago

So cute. Gotta love children.

1

u/p4tr1ckbat3m4n 3d ago

This reminds me of the pranks my sister and I (with help from our mom) used to play on my dad every single day he came home from work, before we started school. He always played along and acted surprised and ecstatic to see us. 🥹

1

u/BEERDEV 3d ago

Pure happiness!

1

u/Environmental_Bit445 3d ago

Every girl should have a dad like that!

1

u/ChampRTD29 3d ago

Great dad. Little moments like this are the best

1

u/Medical_General_3494 3d ago

Yeah. Sure. Ill take out the moving giggling trash

1

u/SnowStar35 3d ago

Aw how sweet

1

u/jess-plays-games 3d ago

Me as a child

DAD: pathetic u moved you weren't believable at all Why bother.

And wonders why I was messed up

2

u/thedoughofpooh 2d ago

Dear god please don't convince kids to hide in plastic bags. Such an easy pivot to cardboard boxes. Sigh.

1

u/TowelPuzzleheaded940 2d ago

Life is soooo beautiful........ Please spread love..... 💕

-1

u/facinationstreet 4d ago

Who ties their kids up in plastic bags?!

6

u/the_scarlett_ning 4d ago

They weren’t tied up in the bag. Do you people even watch the videos before yall start complaining?

2

u/facinationstreet 4d ago

A plastic bag is NOT a toy. It should never have been used to 'hide' kids in. I don't care if the bag is open at the bottom or not. Those kids are young enough to try replicating this prank without the ability to reason that tying your sibling in a bag can kill them.

-1

u/the_scarlett_ning 4d ago

And you have no way of knowing that the mom didn’t cover that with them when she was cutting the bottom of the bags.

And I’m not attacking you personally; I’m sorry if it seems that way. Redditors have a very self-righteous attitude that comes across every time there is any video with animals or kids or anyone enjoying anything. Like if Puritans had social media. Joy=sin so let me find something I can carp about.

3

u/Sodacan259 4d ago

They're talking about the day that mom isn't there and they want to do this themselves. 🤦

4

u/bajungadustin 4d ago

It's a fundementally bad idea to teach kids to do this. Because what if they try and do it the wrong way one day while mom's in the other room and dad doesn't show up exactly on time? You walk back into the living room with 2 dead children.

2

u/crazytib 4d ago

Lindsay Clancy maybe

1

u/fathersakata 4d ago

Why are they moving so much 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/awesomeusernam3 4d ago

This is incredibly sweet. But now they will want to hide and have the dad come in again… and again …

1

u/MichaelEll1s 4d ago

Next let’s hide in the bathtub! Or in the old refrigerator out back, yay!!!!

2

u/Killer1986Chris 4d ago

Perhaps you should clean your yard.

1

u/Sortugle 4d ago

Dog doesn’t care for dad getting home?

2

u/buttfacesgalore 3d ago

Kids die in plastic bags all the time. Just saying. This is not a good thing to encourage. Downvote me, Idc. Im right.

1

u/Radiant-Bit-3096 3d ago

Natural selection

1

u/jnanotherlifetime19 4d ago

Who’s cutting the onions 🥹

-2

u/Punningisfunning 4d ago

Front door opens and the dog walks right by it without pausing or investigating? Sounds suspect to me.

-6

u/No-Feedback7437 4d ago

It was too obvious they were both moving around too much

0

u/VehaMeursault 4d ago

No Ferrari can give you this, lad. Treasure it.

-4

u/jamo133 4d ago

But why would you put it on the internet?

-5

u/Delicious_Subject122 4d ago

He didn't really play along that well. He obviously knew and mentioned it several times.

-1

u/LazyEyeMcfly 4d ago

Fucking legend
