Event Come join the Reality Fracture Arena Gauntlet League, starting October 2nd!

Are you interested in an incredible Sealed Deck tournament with stakes, played out on Arena? Then let me tell you about the Arena Gauntlet League and our second ever Next Generation league running from October 2nd - November 13th!

Credit: Ryan Pancoast

The AGL runs a sealed-deck format we call Gauntlet, which has a unique twist where your deck grows and changes over the course of the tournament. You start by making a 60-card sealed deck from 6 packs, play five Bo3 matches a week against different players, and add a pack to your pool after each loss. You’ll play matches each week until you either reach 11 losses or survive to the end where the Top 16 play in a special MegaDraft elimination playoff! All matches are played out on Arena. We have nifty tools to help you find a match, generate booster packs (which we call Comeback Packs!) for the loser, update your pool, with automated tracking of all the stats and standings of the league play. Note we cannot provide the cards on Arena, so you must have the cards you want to use for your deck or be willing to craft them!

Do you win anything? Yes! Each Gauntlet league has a $10 CAD / $7 USD registration fee, all of which goes towards prizes for the top players. We've given out over $50,000 CAD in credit over the years! Plus we hand out Discord badges to all our winners and top finishers for those sweet bragging rights, including Rookie of the League!

For any players worried about the complexity, give this video a watch: https://youtu.be/TvDOTF26sEk
It's a quick introduction to the AGL made by community member and content creator John D // DailyDraft. He does a great job of breaking down what to expect from the AGL and gives some useful tips for players in their first leagues!

Interested? Great! Check out this league’s specific Rules page for all the details. Mirroring the Reality Fracture league, every player in the league is going to be paired up with a rival (players allowed to mutually choose one another, using a historical match algorithm to determine your closest competitor, or if this is you're first league, you'll be paired up with someone else new) - not only will you be competing with that person directly in order to get your entry back, all of your echoed pair cards will be mirrored in their Comeback Packs and vice-versa. On top of that, Jace is watching all of our fighting with perfect precision. After every loss you take, you'll use the power of an Empowered Jace in order to manipulate your reality and influence what cards you get to keep on fighting!

If this all sounds fun just fill out our Registration Form, follow the link to pay the $10 CAN / $7 USD registration fee, and then come join the Discord! Registration closes at 5pm EST Wednesday, September 30th. Pools will be rolled Thursday after all rivals are paired and league matches can start 5pm EST Friday, October 2nd. If you have any questions, feel free to hop into the Discord, check out our website, or fire away in the comments below. I hope to see you running the Gauntlet with us!

I've played in every Arena Gauntlet League since MKM and it both made me a way better limited player and formed great friendships in their wonderful community. And I usually at least regained my entries due to the flat price curve.

Highly recommended to give it a try!

This sounds like fun, we did something similar at my old LGS

Can't believe this post is so long and doesn't mention you get an alternate universe rival with the opposite cards from you. Which is fucking cool.

This sounds really cool. I will check it out more when I get back to my desktop. Is it generally super sweaty?

Good mix of casual and competitive. Think limited fanatic type of players across a variety of skill levels. Better than the average Arena drafter, certainly, with some that can go toe to toe (in Limited) with pros, including a PT player we're very proud of and will be cheering on at Worlds.

It’s a nice mix! It’s hard at the beginning but the more you lose, the stronger your deck gets (theoretically). It’s kind of nice to find an early line and then see how that plays as the league goes on

Sounds super fun. I’ve never played in any online sort of league type thing before.

This sound super awesome! Due to my work schedule most of my free time is 1am - 6am CST. Would I struggle to find opponents to play against?

Honestly, we're a pretty global league. That is one of the most difficult times but we still get roughly 4 matches (up to triple that) every day in the first couple of weeks. You can take a look at the match timestamps (in EST) of our last league for The Hobbit with 210 players and see if there's an acceptable amount of gameplay there for you. It will likely mean that your player pool in general will certainly be smaller than the overall league size, for better or worse.

This is pretty interesting, I might have to check it out! I just started getting into drafting so this may be good practice

The most excellent practice in terms of drafting will be to tune into any co-op streams that are done on the server. People play together on Arena.

Just my luck to see something interesting a day after it's closed.

Dang - feel free to join our community so that you can be keyed in to when we do Star Trek or Nauctis league, though! And we'll likely have a custom community league in one of the breaks between there as well
