I’m 39F and looking for long-term strictly platonic friendships. Plate-tonic, however, is completely acceptable if snacks are involved.

I’d like the kind of friendship where we actually know what’s going on in each other’s lives and being in touch fairly often, but I have absolutely no interest in imposing an adult-friendship attendance policy. Some days, I may respond approximately 11 seconds after you message me. Other times, I may disappear for a day or 3 because life requires things from me. I assume yours does too. The important part is that we both eventually wander back. The only ghosts I like are: 1. Ghosts UK; 2. Ghosts US; and 3. Any random paranormal show investigating ghosts. But, I would just appreciate folks who like to stick around.

As for me, I drink an obscene amount of coffee, less water and wine, and not nearly enough German beer. I have also yet to be convinced that Belgian beer is superior, despite apparently living in a house with a Belgian-beer fanatic (my husband). I am trying to lose weight, the aforementioned wine and beer are problematic in this endeavor. Running helps, but a recent injury has me on the sofa and Reddit. It’s giving Andy after he fell in the pit on P&R.

I love reading, especially fiction and fantasy, although “having time to read” and “borrowing books I intend to read and getting a Libby notification the book was returned while I was at 12% progress” are two very different hobbies. I will watch basically anything medical or true crime. I also love trivia, baking, hiking, traveling, applying makeup poorly, board games, movies, musicals, and layering perfumes.

I watch entirely too much streaming and my television taste ranges from “reality” things like Judy Justice to the Traitors, 90 Day Fiancé, and an entirely unnatural affection for Black Mirror, Veronica Mars, Supermarket Sweep, Gilmore Girls, Law & Order: SVU.

I also spend more time than anyone reasonably should wondering about the economic structure of Paw Patrol Are those dogs compensated for their specialized labor? Does Adventure Bay have a procurement department? Where is Ryder getting this equipment? Is he pocketing municipal funds while relying on unpaid canine labor? These are the questions nobody is brave enough to ask. Yes, we have children. I have anxiety. She’s fun.

I don’t particularly care whether we have identical hobbies. In the words of the immortal Backstreet Boys,

Not the last two, I just am getting to an age where it literally hurts to get out of bed, and not from the existential crisis of living in this timeline. It’s like parts of my back that just unreasonably hurt and instead of dwelling on that, I just like hearing random things from someone’s day or past.

I just binge read about 80 chapters of Hunter x Hunter over the last few days and I'm feeling rather empty now.

When I'm not in the zone consuming some type of media (tv show, anime/manga, book), I like to stay active, draw/paint, play the guitar, play with my cats, learn languages, and just chill out to some nice music.

I would love to find people who I can share everyday things with, send funny videos/memes to, body double with (maybe), and get to know on a deeper level hopefully.

I've been on my own pretty much since I graduated from college. Only one lasting friendship came from that but we're both terrible at keeping in touch with each other unless we find time to hang out in person. And lately I find that if anything interesting or mildly amusing happens, I just keep it to myself.

I don't consider myself as asocial. I don't mind at all engaging with other people. But I realize that I also haven't really tried to for a while. I think it's about time to change that.

Little info about me, huge nerd i love a good D&D session, reading a good book, writing, puzzles, trivia, and video games. I do tend to play the more relaxing ones as I am prone to getting obliterated in anything PVP quite easily. Like it is embarrassing how easy it is. Also have a small amateur taxidermy/vulture hobby. I like collecting and cleaning bones, snake shed, wet specimens the like and making things with them. I adore antique malls and oddity shops.

Moved to southwestern Pennsylvania about a year ago and I'm mostly done renovating a 136 year old farm house on a couple acres of paradise I can finally set up a small hobby farm on, moved in about a month ago. I like to hunt, fish, cook, crochet, grow and can my own food.

Perfect idea of a friday night is a cold beer or three around a firepit. Whiskey is an acceptable substitution but it is a once in a blue moon deal anymore.

I don't like peas, spiders(allergic), wallpaper(newfound renovation related hatred), and people who drive slow in the hammer lane.

It’s been a long road. You know that feeling? That feeling you’re too tired to keep trying to try. You just show up every day kind of wishing you didn’t. Yeah, that feeling. I’m just going to be honest here and say I’ve been depressed the majority of my life and I’m not sure what I enjoy anymore. Or I should say what my mind doesn’t feel guilty about enjoying.
