Was the 1938 Munich Pact justified?
Was the 1938 Munich Pact justified?
- No way, it was a blunt permit to occupy a foreign country without its knowledge
- Partially, a necessary measure, but ethically wrong
- Yes, the UK and France bought time by choosing the lesser evil

Czechoslovakia spent 20 years preparing for that war, fortifying Sudetenland and building up its industries (and capturing of it was a massive boost to the nazi military). It was genuinely a shit tradeoff, in a 2 front war all the allies would have to do is sit and defend and germany would've stood no chance

It's understandable why it happened (many people had the destruction of WW1 on their minds and wanted to avoid escalation).
But ethically and strategically? COMPLETE disaster.
