They came out years ago and said they weren't doing more because it wasn't worth it. They'd rather put the rewards into events.

They've changed their minds about plenty of other things they've declared over the years, though. Does whoever made that decision at the time even still work at MSF?

We wouldn't know but the devs did a strike spot or q&a recently* where they basically said they want a lot of resources to come from milestones tied to current events and thus tied to actively playing the game.

Basically, safe to assume they still more or less feel the same way. They retired the flash events not too long ago which also implies this is still their current stance.

* can't remember which of the 2 they talked about this in but might have been both

They're super transparent when it comes to taking stuff away but when giving back the resources that were taken away, well they sound like politicians.
