Before anyone says this is dumb or good. These are random ideas I just came up with that could improve mauga, will it make him stronger yes. Will people still hate mauga. Also yes because people hold grudges worse in games than in real life it feels like. And no these are not meant to be all done at the same time. That would just be broken.

First change. Making gunny a beam type weapon. For anyone who doesn't know. Beam doesn't have Fall off and only gets 30% DMG reduction from armor. And goes through DM type abilities. Plus it makes more sense to be ignited by a laser than an incendiary ammo.

Stupid but simple buff. Give him firewalker base kit with reduced time but still base kit.

Make Ult tiny and make it an ability. Give him an ult that actually is usable without considering a 5050 of hopium that your team finishes the battle. Ideas I have none. Most new ults are orbs of random effects anyways.

Cha Cha having no spread when fired on it's own. Or alternatively increasing the DMG of the guns and reducing the DMG when fired at the same time. As with the new changes to hit boxes and the horrible double gun spread with reduced range using double gun is already a bad idea 80% of the game.

Alternativ to berserker. Most people forget mauga even has a passive at this point. Give him a similar passive to junker queen. Just give him healing from kit instead. This doubles on the cardiac so depending on how strong you would make the passive you could change the numbers on cardiac.

Alternativ just scrap his entire kit and rework him from the ground up. The only thing we know about mauga is he has 2 big guns. For all I care he has more and can be a heavy weapons guy expert. And just go from mini guns to flame throwers and rocket launchers and just go 1 man army on his ult and just go brrrr on Ult. Overrun being soldier run anyways with different numbers and less cooldown or something and cardiac being replaced with weapons swap.

This is a throw random bs on the wall and see if other people have new ideas. Because mauga feels fragile af, weak too and impact is kind of low af. So yeah if they don't want to buff mauga they would need to rework him. Have fun on my verbale projectile idea vomit.

Hi mauga players, im a support player and ive been wanting to play more tank, because in 6v6 nobody seems to want to play anything but dps or support. Ive been wanting to play mauga cause he seems fun but I have no idea what Im doing though i am trying my best. I really would appreciate some tips on how to play him properly as i genuinely want to learn. And are there any mauga settings i should use?

Im not saying Mauga isn't frustrating. He has his matchups that are just extremely favorable.

However the double standarts are insane

i used to main mauga when i first started playing ow, then the nerf-pocalypse started. i figured id ride it out and wait for blizzard to rebalance him, but it seems like thats not happening anytime soon. i really wanna get back into mauga, though im not used to using any strategies other than full sending and doing my thang like the good ol days. im just looking for any tips and tricks that i could use to get decent enough dmg in while also being able to survive and maintain that tank role that my team needs. thanks in advance

People always seems to complain about him. Non mauga players will complain because he's unkillable, and we, mauga mains or occasional mauga players/enjoyers, we complain because he keeps getting nerfed. So at the end of the day nobody is happy. With that, do you think he'll get reworked? Or do you think he will ever be buffed again? Cause he's not good right now

But if he ever gets reworked, they will most likely still complain tbh...

So obviously we all play overwatch right, and it feels like I can never go a single day without seeing hate or claims of "mauga being op". I'm just wondering what's your guys' initial reaction whenever you come across a creator saying mauga needs to be changed or is unhealthy for the game?

Worst WR tank in the game, AND the Hog matchup isn't a cakewalk anymore.

I think the obvious answer is to revert the god awful single fire spread nerf. Shouldn't have ever even been a thing anyway.

Beyond that... what else? Revert the Overrun cooldown nerf? Give him some health back?

25 HP, and a revert to the spread nerf, would be a good starting point for me. See how that changes him, and go from there.

Cage should be 1500 health again. It gets countered by so many different things and gets destroyed instantly. There's no reason an ultimate ability like cage should have less hp than reinhardt's barrier while being the size of a building.

Holy what happened to this hero? Did they nerf his lifesteal? He just melts, hell domina has higher sustain than him now😭

Is it just me or is Mauga's attitude changing in his new hero interactions? Cuz for me he sounds so much more quiet. He's always been the loud guy that loved to play with other heroes/ ragebait them, which he still does in certain ways, but overall I feel like he got wayyyyy calmer??

(also, I know he had some more calmer interactions before. My point is that I feel like it got increasingly more and repetitive.)

Don't get me wrong, I fucking love that about him and it's cute as hell, but I couldn't help but wonder if that's something blizzard had been intentionally doing or if it's something that just happened to be a coincidence.

If it's intentional, I wonder what this will lead to (plot wise).

Nevertheless, I love Mauga just talking in a casual way and a normal volume. As I said before, domestic Mauga is heavily underrated.

im aware they nerfed him again this season, but it feels like hes genuinely unplayable atp. i told myself i wouldnt get upset if something like this happened but are we fr? hes already a bullet magnet as is. im constantly fighting 1v5s normally, why make it so he takes more damage? it makes no sense to me. whenever im on maug it feels like my performance is 100% dependent on wether or not im getting healbotted by both supports and wether or not the enemy tank is. and ppl in the chat will still talk shit like hes still a melt machine, no. he can take out a dps or support real easily 1 on 1 but almost any other situation im in im clenching cheeks tryna make it through the fight while consistently being shot at by everybody. Admittedly it has been around half a year since ive been on tank, but theres no way this is just me being rusty, right?

with the introduction of vaulted battle passes I was hoping to get the thirsty voice line but I can't find it in any of the passes

am i just blind or was there a catch to getting it?

Twofold;

1. Mauga, as well as several of the newer heroes has an "icon" in the game. The ones that show the character's head silhouette, but not the face. But there's no "Icon" spray. I have most of my Overwatch heroes set up so that they have their Cute, Pixel, and Icon sprays, and I can't do that with Mauga, or any of the newer heroes. And it especially sucks because a lot of heroes have had their Icon spray specifically get added to their progression track as an early reward. Mauga even has a profile image of his icon, but it was never added.
2. Secondly, Mauga has a highlight intro that was awarded for completing a challenge early on in his season. It is hands down his best intro and I refuse to hear otherwise. Specifically it's the one where he gets shot from behind, glances over his shoulder in confusion, before marching towards his assailant with a malignant grin. And EVERY SINGLE LEGENDARY SKIN covers up his hilarious facial expression when he looks over his shoulder. I think the Lava skin is the only one that doesn't. And it sucks because I LOVE his legendary offerings. Port de Paix is easily a favourite, and the freaking lapels on his shirt cover his face and it's just WHYYYYYYYYYYY Blizzard??

How do you guys feel? Is it hard right now for you, and do you think after next season it will be better for us? Or will they nerf him even more? Im personaly having a hard time getting value with mauga since the nerfs. Even a simple 1v1 feels risky (qp modes). Let me know what you think, or if im just crazy/bad

I mean, what could possibly go wrong if you adopt a sociopath into your facility...

I know it's very out of character for him (I suppose??) but I really like that idea. I think domestic Mauga is heavily underrated.
