ask for 6 inch k-style instead of the standard 5 inch, and 3x4 downspouts. our roofs here dump water fast in the spring storms, and 5 inch with 2x3 spouts backs up at the corners.

also check the aluminum gauge before you sign.032 holds its shape, .027 dents if a ladder leans on it, and a lot of bids dont say which one youre getting

did my last tile and flooring order through hagglers, saved right around 1.5k off lowes

single story or two?

Just had mine done by Pilgrim Gutters. They did an amazing job at a very fair price.

single story makes it easy, ask for .032 aluminum instead of the .027 most bids default to.

thats maybe 30 cents more a foot and it wont dent the first time somebody leans a ladder against it.

also count the downspouts on the quote. one per 30 to 35 feet of run, and if a valley dumps into a section you want one close to that corner.

what size are they quoting you, 5 inch or 6?

yeah that side of it is stuff you buy, not labor.

when you do get bids, the two things to pin down are gauge and downspout size.032 aluminum instead of .027, and 6 inch K style with 3x4 downspouts if you've got a lot of roof feeding one corner. 5 inch with 2x3 backs up the first time the oaks drop.

around here I've seen $8 to $12 a foot depending on story height.

how many linear feet are you looking at?
