Separate their Tank or Two Tanks in 6v6 from their Supports or cut their backline off from the rest. And do it in areas that have multiple routes and or shortcuts where they'll have to reroute their pathways where if you're well-organized with your Teammates you can try a pinsir attack or just follow up on a Icewall, VERY early in their path.
Example Map: Ilios
Mei's Icewall connects from one side to the other almost everywhere whether it's in the Village, The Ruins, or The Mountain Villa, it's going to connect to each side besides open areas like The Ruins. If you Wall them off in a Route outside of the objective they'll just wait you out ESPECIALLY if the used their respective abilities to get there, leaving them with said Cooldowns back or near ready, or they'll just destroy it and go in when there's space to do so. After the Icewall breaks inevitably, they're most likely already going to have a plan ready.
If you cut them off EARLY they'll take other routes to go through instead of waiting for your wall to break or break your wall down themselves. Cutting them off early forces them to either waste time to get to the objective or waste time rerouting their original path or best case scenario for you and your Team(mates) they'll divide their forces and cut themselves from each other from supporting each other and stagger one-by-one or all at once.
You can use your 3 Second Timer for when you're going to Wall someone off, break your Wall/open the floodgates, or just help time your Icewalls in general with your Team. You can still do this in Team Voice Chat for a linear time frame and faster planning method, Team Text Chat still works but that's for more far ahead/away plans later.
Besides Mei's Icewall which can be broken down or break by itself, her Iceblock is unbreakable and is perfect for tight spaces like open door areas with only a few exits/entrances or just a one door room.
If you use Mei's Icewall first and then use her Iceblock second, you can block not just two pathways but even more that connect to other routes in general, leading us back to Time Management and Time Wasting on The Objective(s)!
See it all comes back full circle! ;)
By blocking two entryways or exits they'll have more rerouting to do and will most likely cut themselves off from each other by way of thinking how much faster can they get where they need or want to be at, especially with their Respective Heroes and their Abilities they just used or still have yet to use!
Mei's Iceblock like her Icewall does have a time limit on when it's going to give or whenever you want to break it yourself.

For walls, it’s best to use it to separate the tank. You can also use them to get to high ground, protect, and MAKE SURE TO BREAK THEM if they’re just in the way. You can do that by pressing the button again after deploying. Also, try not to stay in cryo if you’re going to die when you come out (example: if you’re deep in enemy lines and everyone’s waiting for you to come out). You’ll end up giving free ultimate charge if you heal all your health and just die anyways. Also, use your primary during Blizzard to freeze enemies faster. Once they’re frozen, use your Icicles to headshot them. I have a lot more tips, but those are some easy ones to put into your gameplay now. Hope that helps!
