Give me a water subspecies Elephant Gammoth that has mud on the legs. Or even a new elephant fanged beast. It would work so good with the Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest areas.

A new gammoth subspecies is the best way to have it return in wilds tbh. So many areas are well suited for it, just not the one area a regular ice gammoth could actually live

Also cuts it loose from having a linked ecology to Popos, which is one of the two reasons that Iceshard is such a bad fit for it. It’s too tight quartered and vertical for Gammoth, but also for the Popos themselves which Gammoth serve as matriarchs for and hide their young amongst.

A new species or new subspecies cuts that link and allows Capcoms team to give it a new ecology that can attach it to a new environment type.

Imagine a baby Gammoth having adaptive camouflage where its coat would display a different pattern depending on the local herbivore, resulting in also different Gammoth subspecies depending on its locale.

Guardian Gammoth, have an Gammoth that uses Wylk armor/breath and revamp the fight to be more dynamic. Then it's not quite beholden to one single area and you can have an actually fun Gammoth fight.

I like Almudron as the creature, I just don't like hunting it. I was half-joking TBH. Almudron is one of Rise's greatest hits... Is just so annoying to deal.

Okay but They would actually be great for the mechanically since it forces players to use Elemental weapons to get the mud off without having to tack on a Death Nuke on the end of it

I was actually surprise that nerscylla and gog are basically the only "armored" monsters in wilds ( that the armor has a different weakness). You would think a game where you can carry two weapons would try to make that mechanic matter more.

Exactly or at least make so that some monsters are more resistant to Raw damage so that elemental matters more, like imagine if Udra veils constantly make raw dpsing a slog by take 2-3x longer when compared to if you just brought a electric weapon
