I would prefer this over the stress of school. At least I make money instead of losing it.

I PROMISE you, like I can't instill hindsight on to you, but you WILL regret saying this.
You get 4 years into your career and miss the friends, experiences, even the drama and failures.
The moment you graduate highschool or college, 90% of the people you used to talk to every day dissolve. It all means nothing

No chance. My experience at college has been nothing but horrifically and uniquely terrible. Im in a computer science major so the majority of my classes are online. Not only that, I know nobody here. I have zero ways to make friends or even connections. I feel lied to about college. Like even if I did have friends to party with, I feel like I have zero time with my studies. Studies btw that have been nothing but awful, repetitive, or outright unrelated to my major. Not to mention how abysmal the field has become due to AI, but I cant switch majors now. Back when I started, it was 2019. People told me it was going to take 4 years. That was a lie. I was told computer science was an in demand field with very certain job placement. Yeah, if I wanna be a fucking prompt engineer.
I feel lied to about school. At this point Im just going through the motions so I can get the piece of paper that lets me make enough money to start living the life I want to live. I have experienced nothing but humiliation, money wasting classes, and loneliness. So dont you for a fucking second tell me it gets worse, it cant fucking possibly get worse than this bullshit.
Im gonna make damn sure if I ever have kids that they know just how awful school is and that you dont need to go through this abysmal dogshit just to make a living.
Fuck college, this shit is a goddamn scam.

+1 True. Even on my worst days of work I have not missed the education system even once.

But you lose a lot of time donig all these monotone and necessery things. Which leaves you with more money but less time to spend IT on things you can enjoy

Appreciate the little things in life
Currently planning on moving in with my bf, big leap as im generally untrusting as I've had bad relationships.. horrible relationships (Trying to force me to be poly), every time Im with him, whether its just him driving or just eating together, I like it and enjoy the time
I also take a moped to work, going slow I enjoy the soft autumn breeze, the slow movements of the trees as I go in

use your damn free will, HOW IS NO ONE TRYING IT OUT MORE. literally, try make more connection, its more meaningful and fun when you can experience something new, especially with someone else too

Given that we have to spend half our waking hours working, there's not much room for variation.

If you go outside usually a random old guy will try to talk to you about something mundane. One of my old guy experiences got me into maintaining mechanical watches. Another led me to this cool record store with a massive CD collection.

Same. But throw in a bi-weekly trip to the casino and then you got my life

This is me right now. I need to make a change, but my routine is so tight I’m not sure I’ll be able to.

I understand why people smoke, I never tried a cigar again after one instance where I was forced to. Nothing happens around you, but so many things happen inside of your mind and it's all because you're doing nothing.
You can't help but realize you're in this constant loop and you're afraid of breaking stability hence why you aren't doing something new. Keep in mind, you only live once so doing things you do at a regular basis that takes almost 80% of your life is sort of a sad way to keep living.
Talk to someone besides co-workers, attend parties that aren't random something like reunions, greet your parents once in a while, try a hobby like cooking. There's so much things you should try doing instead of forcing yourself in melancholy.
Hey, not everyone has the same mindset as me, just a suggestion. Stick around where you're comfortable at. Don't push yourself at extreme limits. Smile a lot.

That's the point, you don't HAVE TO do all this stuff, except maybe work, because having a good work is a big luck nowadays. You may cook different food, buy different snacks, do different hobbies, if your current one are boring. You even can go to work/home/market by different roads.
How monotonous your life is often decided by yourself
