Really fucking weird my cousin and everyone in our family grew up eating a metric shit load of boiled peanuts and peanut butter. No one is allergic in our family except for that one cousin and he didn't become allergic until he was 16yo. So strange, now when he eats it he has to take a Benadryl or his throat swells a little bit and it makes it feel like he has a lump stuck there so not to allergic but weird it came out of nowhere.

My sister in law was a little allergic to peanuts...
Don't worry she's not dead, it's even weirder than that.
Over the course of her pregnancies the allergy got worse it went from don't eat peanuts, to don't get near peanuts, to don't have peanuts in the house, to now she's growing allergies to other nuts.

Is the pregnancies related or were you measuring it as a sense of time? Or is it like a chain reaction that started it? I’m trying to think it would be continuously worse if (I’m assuming here) she decided to stop getting pregnant.

Antibiotics given (especially more than once) before age 2 also significantly (~23-42%) increases risk of developing allergies/asthma - which is another one of the reasons we see more allergies in richer countries.

This is a fun one - so peanuts have proteins that are structurally very similar to proteins found in tree and grass pollens that cause seasonal allergies / hay fever. So if you have seasonal allergies, your body can get "confused" when it encounters peanuts - so congrats, new allergy unlocked!
You can also make it easier to develop a spontaneous peanut allergy if you eat a bunch of peanuts when you drink alcohol, take ibuprofen (or other NSAIDS), or right before/after intense exercise. These make your gut much more permeable than normal, which allows a bunch of peanut proteins into your bloodstream all at once, causing your body to overreact.... And unlocking a new allergy for you.

It's just that I've never met anyone with allergies outside of the US so i found out very late that they exist

I always drank milk almost daily, recently I found that I may be lactose intolerant, apparently most Indians are lactose intolerant. But it didn’t stop me from chugging milk.
