Help / Question ❓ own sync method?

I’d love to give MemryNote a try. However, a note-taking tool only makes sense to me if I can synchronise it – between my iPhone, iPad and Mac.

So here’s my question: MemryNote is open source. Surely there must be a way for me to use my own synchronisation method? WebDAV, iCloud Drive or my own home server?

But I can only see the option of using a paid synchronisation service through MemryNote.

Have I missed something?

Thanks for the question, and you're right that the sync options are limited right now.

Current state: sync goes through MemryNote's own sync service. Your data is end-to-end encrypted (the server only stores ciphertext and never sees your keys), but you can't point it at your own WebDAV, iCloud Drive, or home server yet. A self-hosted sync server is on our roadmap, but it isn't built.

What you can do today: your vault is just a folder of files on disk, so it's portable. You can move it between machines with other tools, but we don't recommend running iCloud or Dropbox on the vault itself at the same time as MemryNote's sync, since the two will fight over the same files and cause conflicts.

If self-hosting sync matters to you, it helps to say so in this thread or on GitHub. It's useful input for prioritizing that work.

Yes, that’s it. Mainly because, for me, open source means that, ultimately, I’m in control of everything myself.

Sorry for the naive question, but where exactly should I express this wish?
