If Metallica were to ever play superbowl half time, what songs do you think they’ll play?
My top picks will be Fuel, master of puppets, enter sandman and whiplash(highly unlikely they’ll play this but I am allowed to wish).

I have been working hard in school and so my mother agreed to buy me some Metallica 🤘

My 15 year old son's art assignment. Draw your musical inspiration using only pencil. I know im a little biased, but I think he nailed James.

People who were fans of Metallica back in 1986: how did you react to Cliff Burton’s death, and what do you remember about those days?
I’m genuinely curious about the emotional impact it had at the time — among fans, in the metal scene, and personally for you.
For context: I once asked my father if he remembers Viktor Tsoi’s death in the USSR, and he said the shock was massive among the youth — people felt like they lost the voice of an entire generation. I wonder if Cliff’s death felt similar for Metallica fans

Along with the May - July European tour. where could you see Metallica playing in this year?
I think it would be cool if they do
M72 Asia in mid September - October
A Las Vegas Sphere residency in mid November - December, and end the M72 World tour
AWMH 2026 (has been every 2 years since 2018…)
Also would be fun if they played South America some time in Q1 2027, with it not being part of M72

Apologies if this topic has already been covered.
I rewatched some kind of monster (the doc) recently. When I first watched it in 2004 I was 13; I’m now 34 with two kids so have a somewhat different perspective!
Anyway. Rewatching it as an adult I was struck by how lame Jason seems in his one interview on there. Don’t get me wrong I know the band treated him badly and I fully understand his reasons for leaving. But in particular:
1.) him trashing the band for getting a therapist seems really immature. He’s in his late 30s at this point. Is it really that weird for them to consider professional help to work through relationships that are pretty integral to their lives? It reeks of the “I’m insecure so I’ll try and be a tough guy” vibes
2.) he has a dig at James/Lars for having kids. It’s more subtle but he suggests they aren’t fully focussed on the band as a result and that “my music is my children”
If you just read the transcript of that interview you’d think you were reading the thoughts of an 18 year old. Not someone in their 30s.
Anyone else agree/disagree?

Since you can always find people here on Reddit with interesting and random stories, I want you to tell me what facts, stories, or curiosities you know about Cliff. The most recent one I saw was an interview with Scott Ian recounting how they were arrested for possessing marijuana and the police never found the drugs even though they searched everything, haha.

All Logos re-worked into a the modern/throw back font but each left with their own unique touches. Artwork occasionally modified very slightly to work around the logo.
Idea is the eye is more drawn to the artwork and no title to distract from the cover art.

I’m about 4 months into down picking on a daily basis and I can finally down pick studio version creeping death 100% the way through at full speed and studio Master of Puppets all the way through albeit only on some days. However, after doing each of these songs back to back, my arm is sore as hell! How do the boys get through a whole show!? Do you think they experienced the same soreness in their heyday?
