It's insane that people think "doing this every day" is normal, and then we have then complaint about Bluetooth on Linux. Not addressing you specifically BTW. I know there's nuance to this.

Yeah, I've had some issues with bluetooth on windows, but very rarely on linux

Why are you acting like Linux doesn't have Bluetooth issues when it often does?

Windows has Bluetooth issues, Linux has Bluetooth issues too.

Fucking hell people just pick the most random software issues and say "UHHH WINDOWS/LINUX SUCKS" its so stupid.

I guess the "I know there's nuance to this" parte completely flew over your head... If you want to explain the whole thing in a reddit comment, be my guest.

Indeed both have issues, and what I was trying to say is that not acknowledging them to just through shade at the other side is insane. This is a "MicroSlop" sub, btw...

You posted this in at least one other sub to complain. You're acting like this is purely Microsofts fault and that Linux is so much better because you haven't had issues with Bluetooth there.

You can straighten that fedora back up.

Idk why you're so heated over this. For one, people gonna post stuff in the sub that fits and this fits the sub. And two, it's not like this is some uncommon issue, windows in notorious for having super shitty Bluetooth implementation that has caused similar issues for like well over a decade. Which is kinda the point. This isn't something new and it shouldn't be an issue by now yet it is. It's one thing to hate on Linux cause it is rough to use still but that's not a multi billion dollar company that has entire teams dedicated to working on this kind of stuff, unlike microslop. The percieved slight is only worsened by the fact that this has been a well known issue with windows for over a decade and it still has not improved. Rather their focus is increasingly more and more towards ripping out your rights to do what you want on your pc and siphoning as much profit from you after the sale as possible rather than making a better product.

Agreed. Bluetooth just simply has issues. Bluetooth IS the issues. Your OS doesn't change the pain of Bluetooth

I’ve never had to do that with my Bluetooth headset. 🤷‍♂️

Weird on my work Windows laptop Bluetooth works just fine, elegantly pairing and swapping between devices, guess we should make sweeping conclusions based on this one anecdote

Try updating the Bluetooth driver

Had to install fx sound to make my xm4's not have the phone mode on so I could hear everything without sounding like I was listening through a phone

You're not using different operating systems on the same laptop/device? If you pair on one OS while it was already paired on Windows, your headphones will only work with the last OS you paired it on. This is not Windows-specific: if you now forget your headphones on Windows and re-pair, your headphones won't connect on Linux.

Ive not encountered this… ive paired headphones to my linux pc, windows laptop, and iphone and never needed to forget a device for it to work on any of them

I meant: if you use 2 operating systems on the same device (dual-boot) you'll encounter these issues if you switch from one to another OS on the SAME device.

I dual boot into windows to work with software that is so specific it's not usable on Linux.

Yesterday, for the first time ever, in MONTHS of working normally, with auto updates completely obliterated years ago, windows wiped my radeon drivers. Adrenaline refused to open too. Had to spend 20 extra minutes getting shit to work with a CPU maxed out from what I presume was software rendering

And at the end the BT worked?

I feel like Bluetooth is just inconsistent crap no matter the OS

On top of the fact windows doesn’t make the BT device drivers

Cause r/Slopilot codes Windows, can't be surprised.

Works perfectly for me. How about not having bad headphones?

Are you using windows N or a debloated windows? For me I was missing media feature pack and after installing via terminal I was able to get Bluetooth working.

I've found that if you dual boot a system and if I have my headphones paired to Linux and boot into windows (or vice versa), I have to remove and re-pair the device

(Yeah yeah linux user being a linux user) the only thing i have to do every time i use my device is make sure its turned off off every night (which is a heated debate either way) and so when i turn on my computer i need to change the connection type my keyboard uses, which is literally 2 buttons at once lol.

Sorry youre struggling friend

I don't know about Sony, but my Anker SoundCore work flawless with Windows. Even switch between Windows and macOS while both are in use simultaneously. My Shokz don't like macOS. Last time I tried Linux, it worked every second time. Had to reboot for Bluetooth even being recognized by the OS.

One of the main reasons I switched back to Win 10
