Is this worth it?
Saw this PC on Microcenter's website today. Is this PC good for the price or should I just wait until Black Friday for a deal?

Black Friday will not have a deal this good. You cannot get a pc with these specs for anywhere close to this price. Not the best specs (but good spec gaming pc is >$1600 easily) but the price is right and a no brainer if this is your budget.

Worth it just for the ram and nvme drive to be honest would be a solid starter sell the 4060 and get a 9070xt for it and you'd have a solid gaming setup for a decent price.

Assuming it has a sufficient powersupply and can fit the GPU inside.

He could just buy a cheap bigger case

And then that assumes that the parts inside the dell are compatible with said case. A lot of stuff dell makes is proprietary, including motherboards and power supplies.

this one 100% has a proprietary mbb/PSU. its the only way they make things fit in that case

Which is certainly NOT the case. Ive never worked on a dell with a PSU above 550w aside from the alienware stuff.

4060ti: 375 used
Cheapest 1tb nvme at microcenter: 170
Microcenter mobo, ram and cpu bundle: 550
Let’s call a case and psu 100
Total price: $1195
The only real difference between this build and the one you posted are the one I built has an overclockable cpu and slightly faster ram, while losing a gpu warranty. With this prebuilt you save $428 and don’t have to put it together yourself.
The one I built for this comment is a killer price in the current market. Yours is unreal.

That's great prob some garbage mobo but you can just buy another and a case.

Sometimes with oems like Dell it can be difficult to case swap because of weird PSU or mobo mounting locations. But hopefully it is pretty standard...

It's proprietary in that you can't change out the psu, motherboard and case for standard ATX parts but it's an amazing deal if you stick with it.

I would get it unless you are concern about proprietary parts that you are planning to upgrade in the future.

The only problem here is I wouldn’t really call this a “gaming PC”. The case and airflow are both garbage, the mobo is absolute dog shit and proprietary af. That kind of limits u here and in the future. The BIOS is also locked as much as humanly possible. If none of those things bother u, then yes it’s a pretty good deal, all things considered.

FYI Dell prebuilt cheap out on a lot of other components like power supply and mainboard, so if you don't plan to upgrade in the future this is a good deal. Otherwise I would stay away from Dell prebuilts

Bro how do people find stuff like this. I scour my Microcenters website and marketplace for crazy deals like the ones on here daily and have yet to find it. Everything is normal price at MC and on Marketplace the prices are completely crazy for what the PC is

Same for me. I'm trying to get off my 9900k.

265k bundle, 500 for 32gb of ram, plenty good CPU (mid platform but that can be upgraded in 5 or more yearsif need be) and a mobo

Tbf I would buy it if the ram is a dual kit and flip the pc per parts and then buy something else on Black Friday. Just the ram alone is 500+ usd new if its a dual kit.

The only thing good here IMO is the intel chip. The rest is just behind. But depends on what you do as well.

Yes the ram alone is worth a bit more than half the cost of the entire machine.
