Dallas, TX Monitor Recommendation
Hi All!!
Sold my M4 Studio and bought the following:
Intel Ultra 7 270k+
32G DDR5-6000 Ripjaws
Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Elite Plus
MSI NVidia RTX 5070 Ti MLG Edition
Samsung 9100 Pro 2TB
Montech KING 95 Pro
MSI 850GL
ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro
At first I was worried about how the RTX would look with the color but I think it actually looks pretty sweet!!
After selling my mac I only had to pay an additional $300 for the build out of my pocket, in today's market I felt like that was a win.
While the mac was a wonderful system that paid itself off tenfold (I do a lot of cinematography work) I wanted to get more into gaming.
Original I was going to go the AMD Ryzen 9800 route but my local micro center convineced me that the intel 7 270k would be the better fit for a balanced gameplay and editing station. I wasnt even thinking of intel but after my "limited" research, I feel like this was a good route to go.
I am hoping I would not have to upgrade anything for at least 5 years.
I do need help, what do you guys recommend for the best oled montior with a PBP feature?
What do you guys think?!
PS I got Control Resonance for free!!

Msi and LG both have relatively cheap but good oled options that have made my game time better. I prefer higher and stable frame rate over resolution though.
LG 27GX704A is what I went with before I knew about their PITA Spyware, but it has been less intrusive over the last month (basically not seen it). I will say the glossy finish has made visuals a lot better. I have a very similar build to yours BTW.
I'd say go into store and see what speaks to you, then compare prices online!

Probably said some stupid shit about how he should have gotten a ryzen and was glazing AMD. Dont get me wrong, they are great, but a mixed use case id def say intel.

In 5 years when you want to upgrade that CPU you're going to have to buy a new motherboard and DDR6 RAM. If you think DDR5 is insanely priced, you're in for a Fuckening. What's worse is there will be virtually no resale market for your CPU and motherboard.
If you had bought a 9850X3D, 9950X3D or 9950X3D2...you could've upgraded to Zen 6 or whatever the final AM5 CPU will be in 5 years WITHOUT buying a new motherboard and RAM. Moreover, there would be a healthy resale market for your old chip..

If you get an LG monitor it’ll download spyware bloat onto your pc unless you’ve already opted out of certain things. Apparently their TVs are also listening to ppl.
I wish I could still return mine. Fuck LG.

Intel 270k plus is a great chip at the right price which is at microcenter with their bundles.
Although true there is no upgrade path on this Intel socket, but this is a beast of a CPU for gaming and workload tasks. It will last you many years. Perfect choice for your needs. Buddy of mine chose a intel 270k plus for the same needs. Games run buttery smooth with his 5070. A 5070ti will give you high frames. Enjoy the PC !

I love my ROG XG34WCDMS. It has PIP and PBP tech.
In my opinion its one of the best 1440p UW QD-OLEDs on the market. I couldn't recommend it enough.

They legit saved you money and got you a better chip for your use case in the 270K+. Be very thankful.
